Nice can, MDF!!

Hiya Simon!

Hi AntiM! yeah well, think about it: Wood shop. Adolescent girls handling all that wood, and the possibility for impure thought. What's a Mormon to do? Talk about a possible fantsay class..........hickory and a wood lathe.......

A hofting we will go. A hofting we will go. Hi ho the derry-o, a hofting we will go. Looks good ygmir.
I got my foghorn kit in the mail yesterday. I think it's designed for a model ship. "generates a deep, noisy sound similar to the fog-horns of ships." That sounds about right. Tone frequency is adjustable. I found a good shaped funnel, for a bell. Could it be tuneable? Could I make a slide fog horn? a trio playing a chord? We'll see. Playing with that will be my reward today for getting other less liked chores done. I also have to find the bag of slow color change leds, and put them in the mini keychain lights that came a few weeks ago. That's been an easy gift, and this year, I'm going to bring safety pins, for handing out to receptive darkwads.
Yeah, I was one of two girls in jr. high wood and metal shop. I bless those gruff teachers almost daily for the things I learned. The other girl was there to meet boys and be fawned over, but she did learn to do stuff, and found abilities she didn't know she had. I'll give her props for that. I wish they still taught shop in jr. highs around here, it would make my job a whole lot easier. I live outside the plan I grew up with, but I didn't follow it much when I was younger either.
here's a neat little fella:

MDF, you need to find a few of these. TJ's had Playa lager, may still. Image

Good morning everyone! Long time, no talk. Thought I would pop in and say hi before I go do my chores for the day. Fishy, that sucks. That happened to my brother and it took a huge amt of time and effort to get it taken care of. His identity was literally taken as the guy took his name etc for years and lived as him. Bizarre times. Hi MDF, Elorrum, Simon, Marty, AntiM. Today is a Burning Man work day dialing my shower, monkey hut etc. AND, my tracking record says my ticket will be here today. God, I need playa dust.

Another busy work day so far. I set up a couple sawhorses on the sidewalk and started working over ziggurat panels and other pieces with a router, and managed to make it through a little more than half of them before calling it a day on the outside work. Taking a break now for my mandatory course of vodka, then will dive into prepping and tuning my files for the CNC machinery (busy week of that stuff starts tomorrow), and maybe working a little bit on some painting.

I hope everyone's projects are progressing nicely, and that the mailman has your magic package for you winebuff!

I got my email!!!! Yay.

Did yard stuff. Larry is still outside doing arcane things with sorting out our camp gear and such. I've learned to just leave him be until it gets dark.

Got a letter from a hospital change, my info was stolen from them. (Or did I say that?) Now I'm all worried about that being fake. Probably not, but...
And today's mail is a Macy's card. Which resulted on my having to stay on line for what seemed like hours while they didn't take care of it. Dudes, they already took $1000 of stuff from you, it's in your best interest.

Oh well.

My Ron's identity was stolen from him by a 'Ronnie', with the same last name. I dealt with straightening up that mess because he couldn't talk (or write)...I made so many calls and wrote so many letters. Over a year after he died, I was still dealing with the mess.

The kid (in Chicago) responsible for this already had a police record several inches thick, and was only 23!

Happy Father's Day guys! Got my tickets :D Well, they are sitting at my post office waiting for me to pick them up on Monday. We live down a long gravel road and they wouldn't deliver them directly to the door cuz of our security gate. Dam! Have a great Sunday

I had my identity stolen when I was a kid... by my dad. I didn't realize it until I'd grown up, but he'd taken advantage of us sharing the same first/last name and middle initial and had been using my social security and whatnot for all manner of banking and credit-related shenanigans.

Hooray for your tickets being ready for pickup!

I knew there was some kind of footrace going on this weekend, but thought it was just some little thing in our new neighborhood. Turns out it's the SF marathon. The public works guys and the cops were out clanging around early, setting up roadblocks and diverting traffic, followed soon after by some kind of jam band setting up on the corner at 6am. Apparently our corner is one of the mile marker points, so there's a collection of people... and poking my head out the window there are hundreds of runners streaming by right now. Fun stuff! Hopefully they'll all have cleared away in a few hours, so I'll have an easy time of getting to my workshop place.

I always thought that it would be kinda cool to have your identity stolen by a hard-working "illegal" immigrant so that you got all that extra social security when you retired.

I'm basically a criminal. Totally incompetent, but I do spend a lot of my time thinking up stuff like that--even if I never do it.

The college babes, of course, are also looking for a "best" friend. They got your fortune cookie, too.

Fuck that noise! For a start, Burning Man gates will open at 6pm on Sunday, so you're already into 9 weeks and change. And really, for me anyways, the panic isn't about when the gates will open, it's about when you leave for the playa. That's when you've got to have everything planned and packed and loaded, and be ready to roll (or fly as the case may be).

I do plan on arriving early (assuming our plans for placement are met with approval), for me there are 9 weeks and 2 days left. Sure, once we get out there we have the rush of getting everything unloaded and set up in time for the gates to open, but for me that's a whole different mad panic.

For the campmates I've got who are working normal M-F day jobs, I also like to point out they only really have 18 work days left.

Hurry, hurry, hurry - get 'er done!
