See Ya'll in the Dust

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Sorry to hear that Martiansky. Make sure they Inspect the axle. I will wear real fast once the oil starts leaking out. Yes it will cost more if the axle has to be replaced, but you don't want to have happen again on the road.Martiansky wrote:*....zips in......*

Had to do this on the motorhome 3 or 4 weeks after I got it. ended up costing $1400. (I ate ramen noodles all the rest of the year

Thank you so much.Box Burner wrote:Sorry Elliot... I am with fishy on this one. It is a Huge Issue and it is not going to go away ever. We are the freinds.. the interactive soundboard. The place to vent, doodle, speak listen and drop puzzle pieces. Yes lucid information is much better. But sometimes it is so hard to come by. I knew about the institutions somewhere in the back of my mind. It is not a pleasant thing to talk about in our pc world. An ugly part of history. But sometimes I am a bit myopic too. Can't see the forest for the trees, so to speak. And so I wallow in my own pithy little problems and forget that I have the advantage of distance and can maybe see another piece of the puzzle for someone else that is not so readily apparent from where they stand.
Elliot, this little tirade is not really aimed at you. Rather it is for all of us. After all, we are all in this together are we not?
And yeah... fuck me too. Maybe I am just rubbing salt in the wound. I dunno...
BoxB
A few things to think about...
I'm not going to go back and look at Elliot's post, but the "That was good, previous stuff sucked" moved towards what some might call mixed messages; passive-aggressive; slap me on the back, punch me on the stomach... Bad communication habit...
I have told Elliot before (2 years ago, so that's plenty of time to forget, I suppose), but it's not actually whining. My typical tone (and tone is so hard on the internet) is one of light irony. It will move into snark, of course, and sometimes I'm kind and supportive (when I think it's warranted). When I am actually complaining, it's usually straight up reportage. And, like so many, I don't like to be accused of doing something that I"m not doing. (Plus, childhood issues with my father on that ...)
I can see why Elliot may not be able to stand anyone's anger when it comes to that.
Has Elliot ever used this board therapeutically--yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes he has.
And more broadly...
When it's your autonomy that's being compromised, how are you going to feel?
When it's your abilities that are being questioned, how are you going to feel?
When it's your membership in the regular people club that's at stake, how are you going to feel?
With modern medicine making the strides (another leg idiom! I love idioms!) it is, I might be walking in 20 years. By then, many of you may be experiencing some of what I do, and get to get cozy with the frustration directly.

Thanks Boxburner!
Caught the leak in time and now its fixed and good to go!
I hauled (almost)everything into the back porch today while I was waiting and tomorrow(after I go have a cholesterol check done in the morning)I load it up!
I sure hope it all fits....I will MAKE it fit! HAHAHA!!
Speaking of ramen, I had some today but I dump out the water and then add the flavor packet and some cottage cheese to it....weird, I know.....

NOTHING FITS! I accumulated a camp that needs a truck, and I have a compact hatchback! Wh'appened? dry ice cooler and small weber, charcoal, I think are large additions. solar panel, deep cycle battery, yep. so I can power a lightbulb, since I can't fit in the super stereo I was going to be running. dang. I can charge my phone and ipod. yippee. I could do that before.
