Hooray for Saturday!

Our older cat's warming up to the kitten a bit. She still howls and hisses, but instead of just staying as far away as possible, she'll come into the same room and scowl from a distance. Last night we even had 'em both sleeping in bed with us. The kitten just has hearts and stars in her eyes when she looks at the older cat, and good on her for being respectful and keeping her distance when the older one hisses. They'll be best friends in no time.

We got up and out early this morning, and I was able to get the remaining fundraiser gifts mailed out for the people we didn't connect with on the playa. Man, though, doing the customs forms was a pain - the first lady pointed to the big "customs form" and sent me back to fill 'em out, then back in line and waited on by another lady, I learn that's the wrong customs form, and only to be used on premium freight.... oy, back out of line, fill out new forms, then queue back up again.

Back to kitten duty, then hopefully later I'll get to start going through my pics :)

Larry got home yesterday, home all today, so lots of chores and errands attended to. he unpacked more of the trailer. First year he didn't kill himself doing it in one sweep. I sent him downstairs to watch some BBC shows he recorded and have a couple beers.

I still have upstairs/downstairs cats. My boys ended up getting along because Harry came in as a kitten, and we had a Great Dane as a buffer.... but when dad's little old ladies came in, they and the boys fought. Drew blood fighting. Over two years now and they try to avoid each other, lots of growling, but Punkin, the little tortie, is insane. She'll jump the Siamese if I'm not around, he's twice her size. She won't mess with Harry, he's big (20 pounds) and talks to her, although they are scarcely cordial. Sigh. The girls have their own room, and know the "beddy-bed" routine. They go right in the room, wait for treats, and then settle down when I close the door. Trixie would much rather stick to me, but it can't be helped.

Hi bar! I think I'm close to having washed all the things. My back is doing a little "don't move... I MEAN IT" squeeze thing, and I'm done for the day. MDF has my wine proxy, and I'll have some ibuprofen. See you up on the roof.

4 days back in england and i have, had a fight, been arrested, signed on, dealt with housing issues, washed my playa shoes, decided i really need to get back over the pond.

the plan for this weekend is to go see my dear old mum and get all the details of her green card and permanent residence status. then i will be getting things going.

mitcham isn't really working for me, i have had more fights and trouble with the law here in 2 years than i have in the previous 2 decades. If not my wonderful landlord and friend Dave, flatmate Colin i would actually call living in Mitcham and unmitgated disaster. Still its funny listening to dave say he is finally accepting that filming male/male spanking movies is, and i quote "a bit wierd". at least it seems he has a boyfriend now, who is nice and if I was gay would make me a touch jealous.

well time soon for me to sell my soul to the government in small portion s to avoid homelessness and starvation.

Gah, sorry to hear Mitcham's been such a hellhole for you, Grai. Hopefully it'll just be the forgettable stepping stone on the way to the next stage, and whatever's next is awesome.

Sorry to hear about housing drama, Ygmir, hopefully it's easily resolved and turns out to be a nice drive.

Figgy, if I forgot to give you some stickers when we met on the playa (or if you need more), PM me and let me know.

A soak in a tub might be nice, so far the only things we've soaked in tubs here are bits of the more delicate playawear. And there will be more of that happening today - I've got tool bins and hopefully the last of my clothing bins to try and get through, if the little squid will let me. Her first week with us was a real handful, but as she's gotten acclimated she's been calming down and sleeping for longer periods of time. Speaking of which, she's just closed her eyes and drifted off, time to get moving :)

Yeah MDF.........classic case of city girl vs county girl. Very, very different lifestyles morals and values. Seems untenable, and may call for relocation. dang it.

Good advice MDF: Grai!! you know they watch you if you wanna come here........

What the fuck is wrong with people really? I am answering the phone here at my hospital in DC while we have a lock-down at the Navy Yard, 12 people confirmed dead, police looking for 2 more shooters, about 3000 people sheltering in place and nimwits keep calling me about trivial TRIVIAL matters while others sit on hold trying to track down their loved ones.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE???

Okay, rant over, thank you for listening.

In better news, I have decided to take a long road trip and go visit Delle. 8) As soon as I can escape from all these idiots. Warned I might perish in a snowstorm. But I am undeterred.
