Wish I could, because then I could make one too. It's a tofu sloppy joe, with house-made bbq sauce on a house-made bun from one of the best little restaurants in SF,

Eric, is it better to idle or turn your engine off while waiting for entry at the gate? Is it the same for Exodus?

Eric,

What is the definition of a "Hippie" anyway. I thought they disappeared in 1968 or so. I remember some time back reading about a funeral back then held in Golden Gate Park celebrating "The Death of the Hippie".

I lived in San Francisco in the late '70s but didn't see any left there. I did see many very colorful, wild, and interesting professional type people there as well a lot of street people, but don't remember hippies). Thanks, oh wise one.

Erik, Why oh why is it that right before Burning Man my boss always starts a project that involves me? Does he start them all the time and I don't notice? Or...does he save it for this time of year just to keep me hopping?

Entry: idle. Exodus: turn off your engine and fool around with the copilot.
Thecatman wrote:do think there is a home plate umpire, in any league, major or minor, who wears glasses?
Yes.
Blue_Bike wrote:What is the definition of a "Hippie" anyway.
Dirty, stinky, lazy, grubbing, begging blot on the soul of any event (or street) where they think they can get hand-outs and people to take care of them. They don't believe in money (for themselves), but believe that people should "share" with them (things that the other person bought with the money they don't believe in). They talk in pretentious bullshit speak, with lots of flowery words about world peace and the coming enlightenment of man, all while reaching for your food with their dirty fingernails. At Burning Man they can be found in camps that talk about curing cancer through better alignment of your chakras, and, always, in Center Camp. At all hours. On every surface except the counter.

Please note: the term has degenerated to this through the "establishment" view of what the hippie movement was in the 60s, but it is what the term means now.

Any suggestions, new single malts to recommend?

A new single malt is an oxymoron. It must be aged at least 3 years by law (but anyone who'd drink swill that young should be kicked off the planet).

Since I don't know what you've had, I don't know what's new to you. I can say that Glenfarclas has never done me wrong - get the best bottle you can afford. I've had the 10, 21, & 25 year old, all delicious, all on my "anytime" list.

Dear Eric

Have you had a chance to sample any of the Asian single malts?

Dear Eric,

Whilst discussing major food groups, we hit a conundrum. Is bacon a fruit or a vegetable?

I've had the Yamazaki 12yo, absolutely delicious. I'm totally game for sampling more - they know their stuff.

It's treif. Toss it in the garbage, eat something good and less hipster driven. If you want salt, I suggest real brined pickles.

Have had bad BO for a couple years , wont use deoderant . I used to not smell so bad and was going to use patcholi to cover it up
Found out a herb I was taking call Ashwagandha ( for energy ) has had a bad translation. I heard it meant " makes you strong like a horse" and it really gives you a energy boost. Now I hear it means " smells like a horse" and it all makes scents :) So I quit taking it and its getting back to my old BO smell :)

Natural BO, any day. If it gets too strong, use one of those salt crystal deodorants, that's my backup. Kills the stinky bacteria without coating you in nasty chemicals.

I've used it for years. It only works if the armpits are freshly scrubbed, if one has an antibacterial bath soap, that's the place to use it aggressively. Apply just after the shower. Can last all day. Beware of cheap product out there that could have aluminum chlorohydrate.
