For me the best thing is meeting and getting to know people. It may take a year+ to meet them in person, but you can build great relationships with folks in here. There are great threads in here too. Just about anything you need answers for are here. Best thing of all, there's such a variety of squirrely fuckos in here!

Not against snark necessarily, just a thick skin.

If your entire exposure to the event prior to your first time is in a pink, love everything world, then I think a) you're missing a lot of the fun and b) you're probably in for a rude awakening.

You have to bring more than just your beautiful soul and a pair of fuzzy britches. And your spectacular outfit and poem of greeting won't be enough to save you from some good-natured bullhorn abuse.

My favorite thing about eplaya is knowing that if or when I am aching to be on the playa, I have you all to commiserate with. I find solace here when the world sucks too badly.

I am humbled and proud to be part of the ePlaya community.
In my career, I have leaned upon the compassion of this message board to carry me thru the darkest times (the Don Quixote years especially). I rely on the eyes and ears of those that frequent here to survey the rest of the internet and stomp out bad pottie rumors and myths. Because I'm not blanketing the internet, and there's a fuck load of bullshit about BM porta-potties out there, I need this to keep the story straight.
I have been a member for 9 years, and it's been a rewarding and empowering experience.
