Actually McCartney still rocks like a Rock star.
He played here in Seattle recently with the surviving members of Nirvana backing him up and it was ROCK music.
And I just saw Ringo with his All Starr Band here last month, they weren't as hard rocking as McCartney but I loved them!

The News That's... Well, News...

Post by Rabbi Dali Rick » Sat Aug 30, 2014 4:06 pm

Just So You Know...

The word on the Playa this year just seems to be all bad... There is limited potable water refills for RVs or Water Storage units... This is where being Rich avoids the sucky problems. They can "outpay" Top dollar for what water there is delivered... Sucks to be Poor on the Playa... I guess it has turned into a Richman's Game, yeah...

I live Burning Man... So do I miss it?... Naaah, not really...

And this automatically means that they went to drive for "the rich"?

So, a slow trickle of Exodus has started, to become a larger flow tonight...

Soon they will post again.

So what about the water. I say serves them right, bring your own. I'm always on here telling people that making arrangements for other people to provide anything is risky.
Water, power, shelter, transportation... whatever it is, if you're fucked without it, bring it!

I know there's a "show no tickets" option you can join that doesn't work at all. Is there soon to be a "show no lost and found" option for the coming season that won't work either?

Sigh..... howdy can I have a drink? I'm now in Winnemucca instead of on the playa....is there a record for number of visits to black rock city without watching the man burn? I am up to 5!

Lots of great stuff, as always! The meet and greet was very crowded. Simon visited my camp and gave magic Marty a "Nixon Now" button. MDF'S son brought his wonderful stove with legs! Gyre showed up last night and immediately caused problems. It rained on Monday and lightning was all over the playa, I heard someone got hit.....

..... but dang, our beloved city will soon be gone again.....

Yes, it was 2009. I was with the Booby Bar in Terminal City. As for drinks - this is a magic bar, it has everything. Good night.

Damn sparkle ponies..... but I wish you had not told them not to go, TTG. I'm pretty sure there is always one lane going each way and some lonely soul at gate.... and the temple burn is not the party that the other burns are. They may have learned something!

Or jumped up and down between pouting and complaining 'where's the party!' - at the Temple burn...

Although, arriving nice & clean, they'd have been walking around nice & clean. They'd have looked like narcs showing up for a shift.

o.k., back, and cleaned up, now I need to go out and unload enough of the stuff in the car so it won't be a total mess in the parking lot at work tomorrow. Probably will need another shower after the unloading. Still too fresh to reflect. Awesome time. Tired, and feeling a bit out of sorts being indoors and it's so so so quiet here. We missed all of you in camp envy.

holiday for many, but I will be working, and don't want to have all my stuff in my car... I think I can take the bike off, and take out enough to be able to see out the back window again! I'll be in a good mood for most of the day if past year's experience repeats.

Seeing abandoned bikes on the playa already. And people going around inspecting them, taking things off the bike, leaving the bike they rode up on and driving off on the bike that had been there.

I saw some of that this afternoon. One fellow walked up to an abandoned bike already wielding two others - spent a good 20 minutes checking the new one out thoroughly before making an exchange.

Had to wonder if he realized he was on camera.

(can one actually "wield" a bike???)

So I quit my shit ass job yesterday. They had me working 13 hour days and no where when I applied or got hired did they ask if I wanted them. 13 hours on your feet and making roughly $30 up in tips... Fuck that! I made more in a small 44 person bar in 4 hours. So ya. Need to find another job.
I applied at a PMIC facility here in town. It's a residential facility that helps children with behavior and mental issues. I was in one as a kid so I can rate to a lot of these kids. I want a job that is rewarding and actually matter in life's im so burnt out on customer service and food service. So cross your fingers!! I need as much luck as I can get!

Welcome back Elorrum!

I'm guessing that after work tomorrow, when you go back out to your car and hop in, and smell all of the residual playa dust in there..

..you're going to smile, then chuckle.. then break out into a maniacal laugh!

*****slowly zips in**********
Turns on the ECM

Morning BAR! :coffee: all around!
Back to the default as of last night.
Took about 40 minutes driving from Hushville to
the back of the Exodus line and then only about an hour
and twenty minutes from there to the pavement.
BMIR was saying 5 hours of a wait when my sister Mohairs
and I got done packing up and we were thinking, "CRAP, 5 hours!"
But the actual time was two hours to the pavement and another two hours to
Fernley where we luckily had called ahead and got a room for the night.
We were planning on staying until
tuesday morning to leave but decided midmorning yesterday that it
was time to go.
We made some new friends but missed our dear friends who could not
attend this year.

About time to get back on the road and head east for the day.
Another :coffee: and a good day to all!
So the theme this year is like a giant camp out in the desert? With people bringing lots of shit from all over? uh.. -Marscrumbs
