I did notice that Ratty's list is missing my personal favorite Fishy quote (the one I love so much it's pretty much my permanent sig quote):

I came here to post this, my favorite eplaya quote. Not surprised you beat me to it.

I also love the quote often attributed to you about how this year's theme will be the same theme as always: burn shit and blow stuff up.
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

Doc, I'm sure you are on several lists. and by the way I have tons of quotes from you. These are some of the ones I can repeat. (Others can only be viewed with 3-d glasses and a signed release.)

Dr Pyro...Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life!"

Dr. Pyro, 2001...Love is never having to stay your sari.

Dr Pyro...Duct tape and string? I get all hot and bothered just thinking about it.

Dr Pyro...It is said that the reason God invented time is to make sure everything doesn't happen all at once. Clearly God never made it to Burning Man.

Savannah, thanks for the great entries. I see tons of them in the archives that I wish I knew the author.

I was a guest greeter at the newbie orientation last month. The greeter in charge, Janice Scarborough, told me all about you. Hard to believe since I've only seen the eplaya and on playa persona. Just another 'proof' that everything is not as it seems at Burning Man.

I think it was Bob "The Couch" that used to say "It's just a fucking camping trip".
I miss Bob, he had a way of putting people on Earth and setting shit straight.

You can mine the Page Two thread too. I was reading it at work, to sort of keep sane, and even detached from the (now forgotten) items that inspired the outrage, the outrage was pretty funny.

I'm thinking it was Liz Estrada that gave us
"It's just a fucking camping trip";

of course, she screamed it in huge bold pink type

I found a post from 2003 (and from just a few days after this version of ePlaya went live) that uses it and states "quoting Bob"

Bob is Liz and the original Badger too it seems. But maybe it's the absinthe clouding my otherwise imperfect memory.

Bob is the genesis of snark. He might just be The Original Couch that the universe evolved from.

Don't know who said it, but this: "You're wrapped up in this lame Puritan view that redemption only comes from labor."

I think it came from one of the many, many, many threads on the right and wrong ways to burn.
