Video Games
Hey all.
I was wondering if theres any dust heads around here who play video games. Wether it be Xbox, PC, Wii, or Play Station.
I have not seen a thread of this so lets start one to discuss the things we enjoy about it.

Of course they picked "Butterfly;" everybody always picks "Butterfly."
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.

I'm playing Diablo 3 now, and occasionally Mechwarrior online. Will probably pick up the next Fallout game when it appears as I have a soft spot for post-apocalyptic stuff.

Re: Video Games
I haven't been a 'traditional' gamer in years. There's great stuff (and tech) out there, but having been through it before and knowing what kind of time a really good game can eat up, I resist the urge to give into that temptation. I said 'traditional' because I do spend a fair amount of time working with Second Life, which is technically a game but really an open-ended virtual world with awesome tools for building and making things.

Oh yeah, I've sworn off MMO's after wasting a year or two playing D&D online.trilobyte wrote:I haven't been a 'traditional' gamer in years. Re: Video Games
Ive never ventured into MMOs just for that reason. All that tiiiiimmmmmmeeeeee investment. Reminds me of that South Park episode.
Shooters are quick fun but RPGs get me. I love a good story and character investment that has a cap to it.

I played WoW for years but the anxiety of interacting with aggressive strangers online was getting to me. Then I picked up Skyrim and I was shocked by how peaceful and relaxed I felt while playing. Haven't touched an MMO since. For the last couple of years I've been playing Japanese RPGs a lot - currently working my way through the Tales series and loving it.

Yeah, it's definitely nice being able to pause a game or just save and quit when you need to. MMO's usually require a big chunk of time to be set aside so you can complete something (over and over and overtahiti_treat wrote:I played WoW for years but the anxiety of interacting with aggressive strangers online was getting to me. Re: Video Games
I usually don't play video games but this passed winter was a rough one for me.
My mindless entertainment included GTA V, The Last of Us and Skyrim.
Ooh, Katamari too.
Those were my favorites, there was a slew of others...
