The feral kitten let me pet him today. Mother was a dumped pregnant cat that had him in the woods. Unfortunately she was run over before she brought him to me.

We have a few strays in our neighborhood we feed. I've done the TNR routine on a few of them. The fact that the mother was dumped just pisses me off. If people don't want to take responsibility for an animal, don't take it in. Let someone who'll love the animal have it, be it feline, k9, reptile whatever.

I live five miles out of town on a back road. It is a secluded area and seems like a popular dumping ground for unwanted pets. Some of the worst cases I have found were a goose that had been skinned alive, a pot bellied pig with a one inch thick jute rope around his neck, (his skin had grown over the rope and he was dragging a six foot length of rope behind him), and a five gallon bucket with puppies in it, all of them dead and decaying with one live, starving, fly blown puppy on top. I took each of them in and nursed them back to health and they made wonderful loving pets. Most dumped pets aren't that lucky. PLEASE DON'T DUMP ANIMALS!!!
