My standard winter breakfast: brown-sugar flavor instant oatmeal in the microwave. Coffee not until I arrive at work - that insures a hasty arrival!

That means I gotta get the hell outta here!

Morn' Ygmir...I'll have a cup o tea with ya...

::pokes fire, throws in a dutch oven packed with bacon::

I think I may get a head start on some X'upmyass shoppin' today?
Im thinking I'd really like to be done early, and not do that last minute crazy crunch.

But might get some good deals concidering all the commerse is shaking in their boots for lack of shoppers.

Well, Kid is just not wanting to play the get up for school game today. She got head slammed a couple times at Wrestling yesturday...and appears to have gotten a small concusion.
Im trying to be supportive...Only girl on the team....But I dont know if I wanna 15 yr old Mahamad Ali for a kid either.

How that saying go again...what doesnt kill us makes us stronger????I dont think mom's believe that about their children...just ourselves!!! hahaa
I know...double edged sword eh?

Good day to everyone!

wow, wrestlin'...........I had friends in that sport, it can be hard on the old noggin.........be careful with her..........
I tell my daughter, regarding sports, "have fun, but, realize hardly anyone makes their living at it".............just for perspective........

Yule shopping.........I've trained almost everyone in my life, that, I reject the commercialism for the most part, so, don't expect a gift, or, much of one.......I except kids from that, though.........I love to see 'em smile.......

*pours hot water*

What sort of tea? *slides a basket of assorted tea*

Honey, (not darling)?
milk?

I think I'd even like a nice warm shot of Yukon jack too please...The cold is gone now...just damn chest congestion is gonna grow roots and try to hang out for awhile....NOT!

Yup, we have 4 kids between Titwi and I.
I usually make homeade cookies, candy, fudgey type snack in baskets for adult family. More of a personal touch I think.

Think this yr I shall try to make up some homemade OVEN MITTS! hahhaa
Well thank you for the tea Ygmir...must try and wake up so more....
Have great day everyone!

good morning! can you make a tea latte, yg?

homemade oven mitts ... that's sweet, pinemom! i usually make cookies for my neighbors ... maybe some caramels ... i've been insanely busy at work during christmas season for years, this year no job ... hooray! i love christmas.

the best part will be my sister's gingerbread house party ... this year we are making 9 houses, with candy windows and everything ... the neighbor's kids get to decorate them, and take their house home ... it's the cutest damn thing, watching them all decorate. what fun!

I'll join you.....nuthin a Nordic Pagan likes better than drinking mead from a horn by a fire.................well, almost nuthin'..........

Got any lamb for lunchtime shish-kebabs?..........
*comes in carrying a log that someone of such small stature shouldn't be able to manage (I sure do love my e-back, I can do stupid shit like this and not end up crippled for a week) carefully gets it into the fire place so as to not knock coals and embers out into the room*

So, YG, a Nordic Pagan and a Roman Catholic sat in front of a fire drinking mead and eating lamb-kebabs. Is that what you would call one of life's ironic twists or what?

Oh dear, it would seem I've started a cult following. Well, as long as there's no Kool Aid involved I guess it'll be all right.

Kook aid?
Ummmm........I think I need a drink now. Can anyone suggest a good Scotch? One of my other drinking heritages wants out today.
ygmir wrote:I reject the commercialism for the most part
I quite agree. This year I've been lucky in avoiding all that crap (probably cause I don't go anywhere). If I had my way anything associated with x-mas wouldn't be allowed until after Thanksgiving and songs wouldn't be allowed on the radio until the 1st of Dec.

I'd call us sitting at a fire drinking mead and eating lamb pure enjoyment......and, as it should be.............

And yes you have created a cult following now. Since Landru died, "we of the body" have been looking for a new leader...........

see you bring it up, and, they get all excited..........look at the little buggers walking around flagellating themselves with linguine.........

*checking out the boys, wondering what they have on under those kilts*

i don't know, a bit of bagpipe is about as much flagellation as i can handle at one time ...

perhaps, LF, a round of "oral flagellation" would be in order, just to put your "mind right".............and, what's under our kilts is our business.........
of course, if you'd like to be a partner...........some "insider trading" might be in order.................ah, the random double entendre........
