Evening Bin, LeChat, montana, Zule, KIV. Just got back from dinner with a pal, was nice. I've been to BM with him twice, and this year will be the third. We both are pretty mellow, and we camp good. Plus, we talked about our newest campmate, K.B. He's funny as hell, and I think will add even more of a good human spark to COFFEE CAMP. Damn, the Theme Camp Registration form looks tempting...(then again, it's like 30 pages long!) Good I possible get a glass of White Zinfindel in here (smiles).

Going off on a tangent after reading that last post: I spent the money on Paint Shop Pro X. I'm finally clearing a block of time to start learning it next week. Yet I wonder...should I have shelled out the $600 for Photoshop and learned that instead...or was my $90 well spent? Call it buyer's remorse or something....and looking at the images in the CH/KA thread doesn't help matters either. Is it worth the $$$?

KIV, I say money well spent. The program I use is (choke) Printshop 20. Cost 29.95. Probably the least fanciest program, but I've used it for years and just got comfortable with it. Then again, with anything, it doesn't how matter how big/fancy/anything that it is if you don't know what to do with it

More intersting factoids about our fellow creatures. Heard on NPR tonight that hen's teeth are not really scarce . . . . just dormant. That chickens are related to alligators. The possibilities are awsome, frightening!

You can do it, Kenetic. That piece in the pic is acrylic, but you can do plenty of amazing things in the digital world too. I’ve had the chance to play with Photoshop a bit and like it. I'd like to have the disposable income for Adobe Illustrator and a really good LCD digitizer pad. I guess I’ll just have to stick to my pencil and pen for now.that's what I want to make...or try to.
You know... I'm a bit of a luddite, though. Something about the physical interaction between pen and paper that's very special to me. I find the spiritual in some of the most mudane things. But then again, I'm the guy who said that sewing on a treadle sewing machine was almost sexual.

20 years of programs not much changed just better tools.
K I use allot of programs. They all basically do the same thing. It took me a long time to let go of old programs. You get used to hot keys and where the tools are and what they are called. So any money spent is good to learn the medium is what is the most important.buyer's remorse

Good call LeChat, I hear ya. I haven't for awhile, but I used to love making nice handmade letters: parchment paper, india ink, even a wax seal. It takes longer (snail mail) but it is so much more personal and human. Same thing with art. I'd much rather spill and ink my hands as opposed to double-clicking. But, that is the way of the future, so I'm slow to embrace...
