Congrats Rebbi;

That is very cool. I loved the photos you sent earlier to show us the bar. Please send photos after this year too.

BBD, I'm leaving on Monday so I understand the rushing around.

TITWI and Pinemom, I hear you on the clusterfuck of Early Entry. I still haven't got mine either even though I'm told I should be getting one. I leave on Monday and I'm planning to just drive as if I do have Early Entry. I'll join you outside the red tape I guess.

I'm thinking just like ballots for elections we ought to return to paper and pencil. Someone should just have a frigging list at the gate. It's not like we all come in at once. Post the list online 3 weeks in advance so we know we got it and can plan. I hate to say it but computers are friggin' driving me nuts this year too.

If you hear of a scuffle at the gate that would be me. I defy anyone in the org to deny me early entry this year. I got to get in to set up the sculpture for Caleb's memorial. Since it includes a man figure with a fuck you finger, I'm thinking I'll just drive up and let his ghost deal with it.

HAHAHA

 Barbarians at the Gate. I love that, ygmir.

and believe it or not I love a cigar, now and again. I learned the hard way. My regiment has an annual mess dinner for St. George's Day. Yeah, I know that's a silly tradition to have a patron saint but all Canadian regiments do - something to do with Church of England traditions.

Anyway the year that I was first attending, I was also the only woman. Regimental dinners are heavily scripted events. I was chosen to sit at the end corner of the head table. This was the seat of honour for the person who was litterly scripted to start the food fight. It was my job to stand, address the commanding offer and pitch the first handful at the regimental sergeant major. Immediately after the food fight, the port and cigars are brought out.

The maitre d' gave a cigar to every man in the room but decided I was too delicate to have a cigar. I rose to my feet again just as the whole room was pausing for the commanding officer to light his cigar first. I said that I would start the food fight over again, if I was not given the same courtesy of a cigar. The sergeant major rose, went to maitre d' and brought me a cigar which he clipped, handed to me and offered a light.

My spirited feminism had got me into trouble again. At that point, I was forced to smoke the darn thing. It was all I could do to keep from turning green!

Oh darn, I forgot the funniest part of the story.

When the sergeant major came over to give me a cigar and light it, he was completely covered with the mashed potatoes I had thrown at him! He had to wipe it out of his eyes so he could see.

What was that about? Last thing I remember I was headed to the barn and then BAM, flat on my ass.

Hey look, he's BACK. YG's enticements must have worked.

Hey all!

One bag is in a trailer now, yet I may make it to the playa first. Oh well, good thing that I decided to pack my non-essentials in that bag.

Time for a drink, it's unseasonably cool here, so I think some scotch would be nice.

Happy to see Mozy, pop in for a moment. Good luck with the trap, ygmir. Goathead is right, twins might work. Mozy likes smooches too.

~blows kiss to Mozy~

~gets the fembot to program herself for morning coffee~

I'm outta here tomorrow at noon so I'm scurrying today with the last minute stuff. If I don't get a chance to pop back in here, safe journey to the playa everyone.

Please seek me out this year. My burn will not be my burn this year - it's heavily scripted with events for Caleb. That's okay too, for me but it means I will not have many moments to seek out the ones I want to meet in person.

The saddest thing for me is that Caleb's memorial is at the same time as the eplaya Meet & Greet. Just know that I would be with you at Barbie Death Village, if I could. If I can slip away, I will.

However I have a compromise in mind. The ceremony is from 6-7 at Rue Morgue and then when the sun sets we will burn the sculpture. If you are finished with M&G then come join me at that burn. If the burn is short enough and you can keep the M&G going I will join you late at BDV.

Come eat breakfast and dance with me at the Toon Town Disco on Wednesday morning for the Breakfast of Mental Health Champions. Or find me at the Black Rock Beacon camp - Evolution @ 5:30

:D

Pinegranny and TITWI - a miracle has occurred - I was sent my Early Entry by email yesterday. I have no idea how it became dislodged from the system BUT I have it in hand now. I pray that maybe yours are on their way too.
