Yes, Karine the fire is warm. Sure is cooler than normal this year. It's not going to get warmer then the 80's during the day and will be in the 50's and 40's at night! Too cool to be running around all naked all night.
So let's have another round of Rum for every one to warm those innards!
It's going to be a late night tonight and Saturday is the burn, so I can't wait to see the forest going up with the man. Hope we can see part of the pre-burn procession as well.
I've got some multicolors cans of neon paint- lets get naked and be playa picasso's.
So come back later for the man to burn around 9:30 to 10:30 so don't be late!

"Camp Envy: You're a member when you say you are."
I've been watching obsessively since I found the link on Tuesday. My boyfriend and roommate are there, and one of my girlfriends went last year. For various reasons, I didn't go this year, but I'm so fascinated by the whole thing...I'm really glad they have the video. It really helps give you an idea of how amazing it all is...

Howdy peeps! Well, I gotta tell ya, Camp Envy was really fun. Got to know a couple nice folks, then I found myself glued to that freaking computer chatting away. I told myself I was NOT going to do that, but Friday night and Saturday I was addicted and could not stop. Can't wait to hear everyone's stories when they come back. So, can a gal get a virgin Mai Tai around this joint with a cute little umbrella in it?

Ooops. Cats outta bag. I went back and deleted that part, but that's cool. What I deleted was "Almost have 30 days. Bill W would be proud of me. I know I am."
It's working for me -- today. My last drunk was scary. I was headed towards the darkness again. I'm a much nicer person when I'm sober. Peace!

Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting burnt and gritty
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it will be all right
... In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city
— Lovin Spoonful
In 2010, we will convene a dialogue between participants and planners. Throughout the year, we will use Burning Man's website and the Burning Blog to explore the history of Black Rock City, telling stories that explain the hundreds of decisions that have formed our modern-day metropolis. As part of this discussion, we'll solicit public comment. It is our goal to form a feedback loop, a detailed discourse with participants that culminates in public meetings on the playa. Who is better qualified than our committed citizens to analyze what really happens in the streets?
Since Black Rock City models a wide range of urban phenomena, we intend to broaden this discussion. We will invite experts from around the world to join in a consideration of urban issues worldwide. We also cordially invite artists to express their particular visions of city life, whether these be burnt and gritty, or evoke a shining city upon a hill. To apply for a grant to fund the creation of artwork for Burning Man 2010, please see our art grant
