yeah..........nothin like the feeling of hitting your friend in the head with a dirt clod (hopefully no big rocks in it), seeing that cloud of dust as it "poofs" ,and, hearing his scream as the dirt goes in his eyes............victory is sweet......then, you all laugh and do it some more..........

Howdy folks;

Stopping the road trip for a second. I'm camping near Kalamazoo for a couple of days. Silver Orange is here too and he says I need to get to work on my writing assignment but it sure is nice to have internet access and touch base with friends along the way.

Officially the worst roads in America are in Chicago! Honestly, I thought I was going to lose a shock in one of those potholes. There is lots of construction underway though so things may improve.

Second worst is Iowa! Eisenhower would roll over in his grave if he saw the condition of I 80.

The very worst cup of coffee on the road can be found at a Shell station in Wyoming. My optimistic self says it was human error and the poor folk who stop there won't always get a bad cuppa. That cup tasted like the morning grounds were used a second time for the afternoon pot of coffee - weak, tasteless and burnt! Blech.

Okay, SilverOrange says quit playing and get some work done. I have the coolest writing assignment which could bring me great opportunity for the future. So he's right. Time to crack the whip!

I have a press pass for the Woodstock Film Festival and will be traveling there next week after I stop at home to do laundry. Huffington Post editor Stewart Nusbaumer was a friend of Caleb's and they both wrote together from Afghanistan. Stewart and I have been trying to meet up since he returned from Afghanistan in June. Stewart got me a press pass for the Film Festival so I can help him write about it and possibly sell articles to the Toronto Star or other Canadian news sources.

So who here on eplaya went to Woodstock - the music festival. Or who is a documentary film festival buff. You can all help me find information online. I have written about music festivals and about the Toronto International Film Festival so I can do this assignment well. But I needed an excuse to come on eplaya and wave to you folks. Send me all your best tidbits from that era - 'cause you know I was a baby then, right???

Okay, I'm working, Silver Orange, honest I am. Shhh, don't tell him I'm on eplaya.

:D Howdy folks, sorry I missed the bacon this morning.

Just arrived home a couple hours ago. Two loads of laundry going and the truck is mostly unpacked so now I can play online.

But just for a little while - I have research to do. Seems I'll be interviewing Woody Harrelson, Neil Young and a Canadian director named Ron Mann so I gotta get the background done so I can ask good questions.

Guess how many miles? Okay, never mind, I'll just spill the beans. Burning Man adventure this year was 7771 miles! What an adventure it was and I don't even have time to absorb it all before launching into a new adventure. I'm so excited about the Woodstock Film Festival I can hardly contain myself. This is a huge opportunity for my career and it will be fun too.

Film and music people are much more fun to interview than politicians! But interviewing politicians has taught me how to prepare and to ask tough questions.

Hey Sputnik;

I'm in a sad state of affairs - there's nothing to drink in this house!!! I emptied the cabinet to take stuff to BM and it all was consumed and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

But I opened the cabinet when I saw your glass of wine and all I found was sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, bitters, and grenadine. All the fixings but none of the good stuff.

Oh well. I can imagine something.

Simon - PM on the way. Would love to see you either on the way or on the way back. Will pass through the Roc for sure.
