The First Mate is at the dry cleaners with my Captain Goddammit suit... almost time to go!!
But then, you're probably all having your suits dry cleaned right now.

Anybody get caught in the rain today? I got a text from someone stuck in Gerlach in the rain. It must have been quickly gone. I checked the weather. Rain in a few days. No umbrella but I will grab my pancho. (I don't want to be a mobile lightening rod.)

What weather info do you use? I was checking the forecasts yesterday and saw nothing about rain. Hmmmmmm.

*hears distant shout from Sector 03*

Good to see ya GadMatt!

*sips bourbon*

I may be misreading between the lines, but I get the sense that you may not be headed to the desert this year. If that's the case, I hope you make it next year.

I'm glad to hear you've arrived in Reno MDF, soon to be joined by more and more!

Reading these threads, I imagine the last minute scurrying around; the sound of plastic lids being snapped shut on bins, re-opened and then snapped shut again; the anticipation and laughter; cars doors slamming.. it makes me happy just to reflect on it all.

Cheers!

Thanks for the kind words My Dear Friend. The patch you gave me in 2013 is now proudly sown onto my white dinner jacket. I love me some MDF.
It's been a rough year for us both and I wish for you the absolute best burn anyone has ever had in the history of the world. (Really, my darling friend!)

I have a correction to the post you quoted: Earlier this year, Mr. Burner Von Braun offered me a drink in this very bar... (A side note; in the 1970's my Aussie friends taught me all about "returning a shout".)... Much to my disgrace, I didn't then respond to BVB. (!) So, thinking that I would make amends, finally, offered it up as part of my toast to us all... And I screwed it up.
I think I bought a very special drink... to some underpants.
Well, crap.
Amends, amends, amends & amen. You have a really, really, nice burn, ((Sir.)) (and if you ever think of this... Just laugh AT me. I have no choice... I'm an idiot.)

Yeah... Love & Hugs & Kisses
GadMatt

Ps while trying to compose this post, BVB himself was posting!!!! Oh my Gosh. What are the chances? Don't take this the wrong way... But... Much respect, and maybe a little love, to ya. Please have a drink on me, the sky is not the limit.

Well folks, tomorrow is my big day. I dress like a business person--complete with a sport jacket, and zoo on burners the entire way to Black Rock City. I spot these hippies at the airport and sit next to them, then ask why everyone is dressed out of the 60's. Then ask them what Burning Man is. Where is is located (a hotel?) and is it something that I would like to go to? Where can I get a ticket? 8)

Yes, I will have a blast the whole day tomorrow.

I can usually find a first timer who is excited and patiently explains all about what the event is about. (I ask if it's like Comic Con). Why in the world would people willingly head to a desert? Can you stay in a hotel and just go during the day?
After the exciting explanations, I decide to go. I pass out some swag to the group. 8)

That sounds great Sham! I think you have just the right temperament to pull that off in a way that they probably get really enthused and fall for it hook, line, and sinker, and yet easily end up sharing equally in the laugh once they figure out the joke's on them.

Have a fun trip!

We roll soon. I have some last minute sewing, and house tidying, and packing the locker bag.

Sigh, tickets and rideshares and worst of all, RV shares, which is code for "I don't own a tent and want daily showers".

Still building and fixing shit, way behind. Later today after a little sleep, there will be some serious reckoning. Can't wait to be ready to hit the highway, this year with yet a bit more carnival up my sleeve...

I shall tap my foot for the next couple of weeks waiting for you all to return with your stories.

Though judging from the availability on the Tickets page, I could still grab my bagoshit from the attic and make a run for the playa.

Hi all! Missed a bunch of pages as I have been in Playa withdrawal. After 9 years, I'm on the sidelines and will not be on Playa this year. A real bummer as I will be missing being with so many of you that I know and love. There is a season for everything in life and my Playa season is now in my rear view mirror. Hope all of you have a fantastic burn and look forward to hearing your amazing stories

Hugs to you all

hey Marty! Good morning, friends. Marty, I made sure I had your favorite Mahler yesterday, on my ipod, and will pick a good time, and with some good friends, and we will be with you there. I'm considering graduation as well, but it usually feels like a good idea on the day I pack to go.

Jackass, got that still building going here. Friggin' bikes. Ended up having to rebuild an old bike last night, and almost done now, because my regular playa steed is too much of a job this year, and I can't manage it. This was PACK DAY, not BUILD DAY, but there you have it. I do like the idea of having something ready to ride right off the car, and the trike is always a second day, or late first night project.

Good for you Captain!

Looks like I'll be on the road early early tomorrow.
