Is there life after college?
Is there life after college?
I'm finding this to be true, and that's sad.

Yup... It's called "real life" and you won't see it on a reality show. There are ways of short circuiting it, but they involve creativity... Kyung, in making that pie chart, shows that he has too much time on his hands. He needs to go out and find those boobies!
Yeah, me too...

When I first went to college, I realized I had been sent on a career path that my parents had wanted me to do, baseball (trying to get drafted) and teaching certificate. Flunked out three times. When I realized, after having a couple of dead end jobs, that long ago I had told my grandmother I wanted to be a Ranger when I grew up because I had seen an evening program in Sequoia NP and it made an impression on me, I was six years old. When I returned to college with that in mind, I was driven by the dream. It is now a reality. Never do I dread getting up and going to work because it is always fun and challenging. I see too many people miserable in their jobs. I guess I am one of the fortunate ones.

I think Kyong needs to haul his ass out of bed and find a place closer to work. And then he needs to decide that if he is going to spend that much time in bed that at least a good portion of it ought to be devoted to sex. If he can't find any willing partners then he should start exercising for the day that he does. 8 hours in bed, and 3 hours commuting? That is a terrible waste of valuable time.
And boobies 20% of the time? I mean even when I am in bed with a women I hardly devote 20% of my energy to her breasts. Well, maybe on some days. But that doesn't mean I think about them that much. Maybe if he devoted a little time to what women appreciate he could develop that sex life a little. I mean knowing something about what a woman appreciates goes a million times further than appreciating her boobies.
I will give Kyong this. He's got a sense of humor. Made me laugh. Maybe he should start utilizing it.
I like it sonic. Thank you.

It is funny; this guy's goals included sleeping 12 hours a day and spending the better part of 6 hours a day 'net/music'. When exactly did he expect to have a life? Or for that matter finding someone to have sex with since there was no budget for any kind of social interaction.
As for his life now, well; most people have to work, that's life but commuting almost 4 hours (assuming an 8 hour work day) is just plain stupid. I did not notice any time in there for finding a replacement for a 'job that sucks'. As for the 3 to 4 hours a day thrown away on the net; no comment.
It has been just about 29 years since I graduated college and some of the things I have learned is that, in general, if your life sucks 1. its probably your fault and 2. get off your dead ass and do something about it (the sooner the better -- that one took me way too long to learn*).
Oh and 3. If you think you have no time now ---- have kids.
*I stayed married for years longer than was even half-smart.

<<<<Completely agrees with Silver...Life is what you make it..look around you at who is happy...It is not always the guy with the most money, best boobies or whatever... It is about doing the best with what you have. Live life for the enjoyment of yourself and your family. Not at others expense, but heck, take the day off and go skiing, get a dog and love the lil' guy, don't get married too young, instead, date every kind of woman (or man) that intrigues you. Buy the fast car and forget about the mini van. I see younger people spending $1000 a month on truck payments just cuz they think it makes em cool (it doesn't). I see them having kids at 21, before they have had the chance to travel or be with more than one woman. This saddles them with debt and responsibility which will prevent them from fulfilling their dreams, unless of course they hit the lottery. My best advise, take great advantage of COMPOUNDING INTEREST, it does not take a lot to get a big ball rolling. THEN, you can truly do what you want.

Its all about the dreams, if I am not doing something that applies to that, I dont do it. Of course dreams are subjective to each but that's what makes you.
Most people are sad, some are happy, even fewer of us are psychotic enough to enjoy being ourselves in our own delusional world we create. But if eveyone was like my few, then I would not be so freakishly badass.

You need your freak girl, dont cry numb hands of hope. Your situation is an opportunity other's do not have. If you are feeling non-existent, then push your individualishness beyond your depressed limits.GuinivereElise wrote:we may as well not even exist, for all the not-fun we're having...
After all, what are you worried about? Being socially shunned? That world that you no longer 'exist' in either will not notice, or you will find the world that does.
Life will roll itself in ecstasy at your feet... this world just does not play nice.

Thanks to Einstein my reality is relative, so its who you are relating it to. Thus the difficulty in differentiating between my dreams and what is real when I watch cartoons.tonytohono wrote:This is what life is all about. If it weren't for my dreams I'd have to face reality.
Fortunately, I dont see that as a problem. I am starting to believe schitzo ward patients have it good, if it were not for that whole eating your fingers thing...
... oh, and those generalized anxiety attacks, cant forget those, they suck too.

Alice: Everything looks all backward and such, its quite confusing.

Alice: Yes, I suppose it would, but you are not facing a looking glass.
Cat: Have you ever asked yourself, what does the looking glass see?

It was a cartoon of a business man at at meeting with a pie chart saying:
"This Pie Chart shows how much pie I ate while making this chart."
It was perfect.

Yes there is... but it depends on what you consider "Life"... and how long they stay "Children"... I raised mine to be self sufficient (well, not by myself... I had help from a pack of wolves) and by the time I considered them to be adults (twelve or so) I kicked them out... They're doing okay... I think...gigglesnort wrote:Is there life after children? Not doing so swell on the teaching self-sufficiency part, or perhaps I am too impatient? The oldest is just 8, but still....I feel like I live in a zoo. Life, at this point, I would consider to be *any* recurring measure of free time. Sigh.samtzu wrote:Yes there is... but it depends on what you consider "Life"... and how long they stay "Children"... No, seriously, I did teach my children that they were responsible for their choices... and because of that I am very proud of them. They are all adults now, and are in charge of their own lives. That's just about all a parent can ask.

i've just recently realized that i finally have the life i went to college for... cute little town, happy job in my field, beautiful happy kids... and i spend most nights at home with sleeping children, and most days are the same, and i get bored out of my skull and long for the daily drama/excitement of younger days.
then i get some drama/excitement, and the kids get sick, and get a night out and spend the morning hung over, and remember why i wanted this stable, simple little life.
and after much reflection i decide that it's all about perspective. and hormone levels.
i didn't want to post to this thread for the longest time cuz i was feeling so very very negative about it all and wanted to wait until i felt better about things, cuz i knew i would eventually... i always do!
