HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO A THREAD ?? (I did search !!)

How do you go about subscribing to a thread ? Couldn't find what I needed thru "search".

Never done it before. Never wanted to.
Went into this thread and there it was: a little wrench right next to the "post reply" button at top or at bottom.

Click it and the first choice is "subscribe"
