*sets rounds on the bar*

a toast to Bruno.
Though I didn't know him personally, so many of my friends did, and liked him.
A colorful character, to be certain.

Boy I could use a mojito. I wanted to drop off a copy of this years subway schedule. Don't bother with MVs or bikes. This is so much easier.

Many of the token machines were broken last year by Wednesday but other than that, the subway was great!

I'm ashamed to say I jumped the turnstile. Blame it on the alcohol.

*Prances in dragging a duffle bag. * Hi all. Brought my own wine. What a fun time sewing with Census today. Two guys learned not to be afraid of the sewing machines. They decorated their own lab coats. Experimented with different designs of stitches and sewed on circular patches. Fun for everyone. I'm beat. *Flops down in a pile of dust.*

Ygmir, those pictures are great! It's kinda nice to see something other than lake memes! How was the rendezvous?
Last night, as I was sleeping,
I dreamt--marvelous error!--
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.
And the golden bees
were making white combs
and sweet honey
from my old failures

yeah, West Nile.....well, from the mosquitoes we sampled and tested, the numbers seem to be holding steady.

We didn't get to stay very long, due to injury and illness, we had to pack up and leave. so not sure, but I'd imagine the rendezvous was wonderful, as always!

My best takeaway was that the normal "rivulets" and such, that impeded high speeds along the shoreline during "hippie herding", seem to have filled in, making for smooth surface right up to the shoreline.

And the huge spiders, Ygmir? Were they out in record numbers? Those giant furry black and orange ones are so pretty when they swarm all over our windshield on the way in. Best thing is they're fond of eating all of the giant crickets that cover every inch of our camp when we arrive. Whew... I'd hate to think we'd have a year without the giant insect infestations! It would be a shame if newcomers were frightened off by the thought of huge swarms of spiders, crickets, ticks, fleas, etc. It's just such a fun part of the Burn! :P

Thanks for the update!

Yeah. I like it too. They disappear temporarily when the wind/dust blows em. Mainly they huddle in my tent and shade structure. I need a drink just thinking about it.

Just got back from the soak ( oregons regional burn ) was a great time. They really went all out , was very close to the real burn , people were great. Got my ticket from Ygmir , tickets were sold out very quickly this year. I didnt get any , but Ygmir saved the day :) They are talking about a new area for last year , cause the spot we have is getting small. Was many folks of all ages there , seen Foxfur but he was busy setting up the main burn , so I didnt get to say howdy . Seen Bbadger there , he had a interactive light sculpture displayed which was very cool. Met alot of new friends , neighbor gave me a salmon steak wrapped in cedar planks , was the best meal I had out there. At 4:20 alot of camps were handing out free joints etc.
Told ygmir I would take some picks to show him , but I never got the camera out , was just to busy having a good time sry :) .
My friend took some movies , I will see if any of them turned out ,and may post later.
