A few hot day and that whole wet lake bed will be dried up and have a hard crackled surface.
If not, a giant mosh pit sounds like fun. 8)

It'll dry... but not to total quicksand status, that'd be fun tho.

I've heard it's gonna wind up more packed, not cracked so less dusty... smooth hard surface. Kinda boring... minus the fact that Burning Man is on top of it. :D

I live in Tahoe, I should have went out there to kayak... but I'm stupid, lazy, drunk... but it's ok, I've flown on the Playa before and deleted tornados on it telepathically... in dreams, but it was fun... but I can't say I've walked on water in a desert. Holy oxymoron, Batman!
