I deny ever having been in one of those shady establishments.Rian Jackson wrote:I love how while eating at a vegan restaurant, it tasted 'good' and you enjoyed it.
Ever since then the quality of the Globe's offerings have become more and more insufferable, in your not so humble opinion.
Interesting.
Hey Rob, if i made you a shake with Bacon in it would you drink it? Hmmmm?
Yes, I would. If made properly.
And if you don't stop these baseless accusations, I will be forced to shake my bacon in front of you. Stronger souls have had their retinas fry themselves out in an effort to save their minds from this torture.

There is a butcher in ballard that makes some great bacon. None of that weak supermarket stuff. This is some thick cut stuff. Its a thing of beauty.
More and more I am liking going to specialty stores for certain products. World spice market for our spices, butcher store for meats etc etc. And soon the fresh veggies at the farmers market will be back again.
See.. even I eat a vegetable once in a while. (as long as there is some meat with it)

The best way to make bacon is to just make it. We had a smoke house when I was a kid and we smoked some ham and bacon. I have never, ever, had anything that was as good... there is a problem though...

now we have more leather for shoes.

BERLIN (Reuters) - Mercedes-Benz has agreed to offer "leather-free" versions of all its luxury cars to pacify an animal rights group that says thousands of cows are slaughtered each year for leather car seats and interiors.
After complaints from the German chapter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, DaimlerChrysler said its Mercedes subsidiary will offer fabric or synthetic leather as options. Daimler spokeswoman Ursula Mertzig-Stein said that far from wanting leather-free cars, "our customers ... are more likely to want even more leather at the premium end. But we'll make cars without leather on demand."
PETA officials, who had threatened protests at the carmaker's Stuttgart headquarters, said they were delighted.
"When you consider that the skins of four to 15 cows are needed for each car this means thousands of cows will be spared," said PETA researcher Edmund Haferbeck. "This is a huge victory for animal rights." [\quote]

No, Daimler-Chrysler only uses virgin skins, from cows that are raised only for the leather trade. That way they can afford to throw away the stuff that only McDonald's or Burger King would use... At least, that is what PETA would have us believe. Don't you think that it is wonderful that thousands of incredibly stupid bovines would be saved to pass on their genes to hundreds of thousand of other equally stupid bovines?theCryptofishist wrote:You mean to say that they slaughter the cows

Blessings on all the good animals of the earth who give their life that we might have ours! May they always be so tasty!

Vegetarians can, vegans don't. They don't do any sort of animal product, even milk products or eggs, from my understanding. {imagines life without cheese, shudders}Donita wrote:Can't vegetarians eat fish? I tried the total vegan thing for about a week and got a killer migraine that lasted 4 fucking miserable days. As soon as I ate protein again, the headache went away after about another 3 hours.
I can't do vegetarian for that very reason. I've never eaten lots of meat, but there are times (especially when I bleed) my body requires it.

IF (this is just a thought, mind you) vegans would look at our evolutinary history, and realize that humans evolved from omnivores that ate as much protein as they could, they would see that the human body is designed to eat animal protein.... but, they have arguments against that, too... *sigh*...

Nope! That was my first experience, and I'm hooked. I won't tell you how mouth-meltingly yummy it was.....so rich.....much much much better than the best cooked chicken I've ever had.
And I have to say that I admire your intentions even if I disagree. If I could live on just air, I would, but I've come to terms with the fact that I don't know how to do that. And that I really really like to eat duck breasts.
