I don't know what it hurts to have a half hour edit period after I post. Saying folks will abuse it for trolling is like punishing the rest of us for the infractions of the few. I would strongly advocate for edit to be brought back. It's on other boards I use and I find it very useful. Why should the board admins get to use it if others can't, anyway? Please explain.

Now that’s what I’m talking about...
taxes, yes, well i've been afraid to do them fearing the check would be outgoing rather than incoming

Hey spanky, firstly, man I’m gonna pat your back again for your work. I’m sure it's nuts just under the calm surface of this place. And on the idea of an edit button, for what it’s worth, the Transformous bbs has an edit button available to the most recent post. And I’ve used it once or twice to edit typos only. I agree that an always present edit button may not be a good idea. I can see how it might encourage knee-jerk posts with the idea that, “Well, I can always come back and change it later.” No, no... read, then reread everything you’re gonna post and think about it before you press the button. But an edit for a short duration could be handy. Just my thoughts on it.

I have many reasons for it, but its more important for the general user base to say if they find it helpful or not.

i think i qualify as general user base... quit snickering... and i would love an edit just to fix lame typos. it is possible to make it short term, yes? and even to leave a notation that something was edited? yes.

I LOVE YOU BUCKET! I didn't see that one and love that you put it here for me! Makes me feel like I was there with you!

Chat - i am a damn site miffed that i was not among the dames whose company you longed for last night. hmpf.

OH! And I just want to let y'all know that I will be at the Town Hall Volunteer Recruitment party in SF on April 2, since i am, y'know, co-ordinating volunteers for the cafe and all... if anyone will be there COME SEE ME at the cafe table!!

*kisskiss*

ps - thanks for all the work, Spanky. I have a drink and a smooch for you when next we meet!

OH! and Regyna...! We must have some of the same planets aligned in the same way or sumthin', cuz after falling into the deepest pit of lonely, broke desperation in January, I am now in a saweet new living situation with a great friend and fellow single mom - sharing cooking, cleaning, booze, friendship and general support; money is all stable and flush; work is flowing easy-cheesy; and i have met a fantastic guy and have reawakened my both my inner teenager and my inner vixen, who i thought was long gone... i am happyhappyhappy!

That almost drops me on the playa... no, I think it *is* the playa. Map's a little teensey but it's the right neighborhood.

Oh, Ms. Tish... I could have gone on and on with my list, but with only so much space, I chose to not mention those who, like yourself, go without saying...

*smooch on cheek*

Please accept my apology, won't you?

(tip of his tail wiggles)

And thanks Bay Bridge Sue... I see it's cold and wet outside the store tonight. See if this'll get you closer (it's still radar out of Reno though):

It's coming back, so I hear sam...

I'm being very patient. But I did install a gas turbine cryogenerator powered beer cooler a few pages back. Care for a cold one?

(puts on the elbow high gloves, grabs the tongs and opens the beer cooler lid)

Hey GE!! Beer?

(holds out a very frosty porter)

mind the frost bite hazard...

Yeah, somewhat better. We'll see.

I did spend some time working on the windmills this weekend. And then I spent a good part of today reworking the construction plan. I'm having fun.

There is no way I'm going to get out to the playa early enough to set these up though. The BMorg wants them up no later than Monday if we want to get the whole grant. So the plan is to start assembly on Thursday. We've also needed to coordinate time with the cranes onsite, so that's probably a bigger factor really.

Keep me posted as to the location. I’ll be there late Sunday night and could fly in and help then or Monday morning. I could probably rustle up one or two others too.

And I can bring tools... well some tools any way.

Cool. We're hoping they'll locate them just off the esplanade near wherever we end up, which will be with Asylum/Ubercarney. Hopefully by Sunday the major work will be done, so they should be easy to find. Just look for 3 20 foot tall dutch style windmills.

Will do. Wish I could work out getting there earlier, but it doesn’t look like it. Too bad they won’t give you another day or so. After all, seems to me that the big stuff is under construction all week long.

oh well, so it goes...

Yeah, I think they want to have things ready earlier this year. Plus, the windmill burn will be on Thursday I think, with Friday as an alternate if the weather isn't right
