I haven't checked in in a while, but just wanted to update that I got a new puppy and kitten after losing Wallace last year. I found Bruce trapped in my trashcan outside when he was on his first week out exploring as a kitten. I ended up getting Zora from the pound on Black Friday. They are now best friends and play all the time, i just have to watch them closely since Zora has a good chunk of pit in her although her tag said retriever mix. She can be a little rough.

Aside from that, I realized I still need to dive into David Bowie's catalog and watch the harry potter movies at some point.

Here are the new pets.

Crying as I type this... one of my first friends on the playa is gone by his own hand. ibDave left us this morning. Please send your loving thoughts to his family. So grateful he shared our camp with us this past year. No words...

Come to Me, my loving son
My hand is here to take,
your work on earth, for now, is done,
A difference, you did make.
So come to Me, my special one
the bonds of earth now break,
they'll see you in the mornings sun
This promise, I do make.

Oh Dave, I will miss you so very much. You were my friend, confidant, and you made me laugh when I was down. I wish I could've been there for you when you needed someone. My heart aches that you left this earth. My heart aches for Cindy and the kids.

I know you're at peace now. Godspeed my sweet friend. You'll always be in my heart forever.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

I think there was more than one cook. One of them was my husband's father uncle...

You're probably right. There probably was more than one cook, or the cook had a few helpers.
