As 9:40 a.m. on the morning of Sept. 24, 2011, Anna Evita Judd passed away peacefully with her daughter Loretta and her granddaughter Toni by her side. She left this earth on a beautiful sunny day and passed into the arms of her savior and to her husband Claude and son Melvin. 90 years of a life well lived.

Elvita was a woman of few word, but when she did say something it was meaningful, or funny and I never heard a cross word from her even when she was in pain. She never spoke ill of anyone, she figured they might my not have felt good that day. She was in her glory when she had her family around her whether it were her children, her grandchildren, or great-children (which she had 12 of each!) Plus she has many nieces and nephews that would spoil her with love.

There is great sorrow in her large extended family now. And I pray for each and every one of them who now face the fact that the matriarch of their family is no longer with them.

I'm glad I was able to see here for the last time last evening. I was able to tell her about the elderly neighbor who asked Lorreta out to dinner! I got close to Evita and said, "Lorreta and Sofie (her older neighbor) reminded them of a dirty old man! Loretta said with her hands in the air" I explained, "Is this how my life is going to be like?!?" I then said to Elvita, "Well at least Loretta has men asking her out!" At that moment, she opened her eyes slightly and smiled and softly chuckled! I told her to get some rest and I'd see her tomorrow...and she gently squeezed my hand. I'm so thankful I had that last moment with her.

I will mourn her loss, but in the same time I will rejoice with her and her new adventure in heaven.

May God forever bless you Elvita. I love you "mom".

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

We won't discuss those suicide nets at Foxconn. When I look through the video retrospectives I can only wish I had 1/10000000 of the influence he did to impact a handful of people much less the entire world.

Scott was almost 6 years ago, and Margaret was in the 90s. Kinetic lost someone today. It's sweet of you to care, and I thank you, but it was my way of saying "I know that's a very shitty way to lose someone because I've been there..."
Thank you.

I didn't know Mr. Freeze well, but he was fine and pleasent and funny when I did meet him.
Virgin Mary was a damn good help when I was widowed. She came over and cleaned the house for the post memorial "do". Plus she was available to talk to me.
I am heartsick that she seems to have joined the widow club.
When people die, other people want to help, and they bring food. Which is not a bad thing. But both times we ended up with more food than we ended up eating. So, my advice on helping survivors is don't do food the first couple of weeks, but cleaning, sitting and listening, and bringing food later is good. Remember, death is forever. Which means that kindness and consideration six months later is not "wasted." In fact, once the first fluffy of help runs out, it's nice to have some during the long grey days later. (Unless, it isn't. Don't trap survivors in your need to help them when they don't want to help, and no, I don't have any secret way of knowing when is or is not a good time.)
So, a toast to Mr. Freeze and another to his loving wife.

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts...

This is a tough situation to go through....what makes it a little bit worse is Danny was out with a good friend and he had too much to drink. He turned over his keys to his designated driver....who did not drink. He did the responsible thing...yet now they are both gone.

There are some things that make no sense, this is one of them.

One good thing about all of this is he worked for a division of QuikTrip Corporation...and being privately owned they take care of their employees pretty well. His expenses appear to be totally covered. They have really stepped up to make sure his wife and kids are being taken care of.

That being said this really sucks...how do you push the message of not drinking and driving and having a DD to older teenagers and then something like this happens? It doesn't help in stressing how important it is to be responsible when someone they looked up to dies like this.
