The first "DJ's" played this machine from 1910 for silent movies until "talkies" came around.

Compressed air blowing thru holes in paper made the tune, and knobs, buttons, pedals, cords to pull gave the operator lots of options to mix in all kinds of "effects", aka: actual physical things that make or alter sounds!....no time to sit back and fist pump with the relentless helter-skelter energy of this monster.
