Fuck!

My cat got killed by a pack of dogs last night. My neighbor found her in his driveway with her throat ripped out. She was kind of crazy, and I couldn't ever get close enough to her to even think about petting her, but we had our certian mutual-respect-from-a-distance rapport. I rescued her after she had been abandoned near the trailhead of a local hiking trail about seven years ago. Fuck! It makes me want to go buy a .22 rifle for the fucking dogs.

Also, it was hot and humid as a mutherfucker here today and I spent six hours helping my girlfriend move her furniture n' stuff out of her house and into her new place. We almost came to blows a couple of times. One exchange was kind of like this.

GF: [annoyed] "You're getting all the little stuff. Please just stop it! I've already told you that I can get all the little stuff later."
Me: [sarcastically] "Oh, you're welcome."
GF: "Honey, getting all the little stuff is slowing us down and messing up my schedule."
Me: [pissed] "Look, we need to everything we possibly can while we've got two trucks here and all of our manpower here, alright?!"

My feelings on the matter are now something like this, "If you want things done your particular, specific way...and that's the only way that you want them done...then you need to pay someone - then you can tell them exactly what to do and how to do it...but don't tell me what to do when I'm spending my Saturday out here as a volunteer roasting my ass off moving your shit!"

She later apologized for being grumpy and difficult and thanked me profusely. I have to say though, I'm a really mellow, cheerful, and easygoing guy. I don't like arguing, fighting or drama. It takes a lot to make me mad, but once I do get mad, it takes a long time for me to regain my normal stasis. Even though the apology helped a little, I'm still a little sore about this. Never again, never again.

Then, when I got home from this hellish day, my neighbor came over and told me about my cat.

Also, my dad passed away two weeks ago. At the time, I felt very stoic; I've always been very matter-of-fact about death and dying. After all, it is the inevitable, logican conclusion to life that we all face, right?. However, I'm starting to feel the sense of loss and mourning creeping up on me. I must say that today was a total fucking bummer - first my dad passes two weeks ago, then I give up my Saturday to sweat my ass off moving shit, then the person I'm moving all the shit for starts giving me shit, then my little crazy kitty gets killed.

Fuck!
...but it seemed like such a good idea at the time...

I hear there's a fucking problem.
There's definitely a fucking problem with this URL If you copy and paste the whole URL, it sends you to an article about a new sort-of-virus that started monday. You catch it by going to Yahoo mail. You don't even need to open an attachment. It grabs your whole address book. If it's bogus, I'm sure you'll all let me know.

Computer virus targets Yahoo email users

E-mail | Print | | Disable live quotes Last Update: 4:10 AM ET Jun 13, 2006

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- A computer virus attacked users of Yahoo Inc.'s (YHOO) email service Monday, spreading from one computer to another by exploiting a programming flaw in Yahoo's Web-based email service.
The malicious program, dubbed "Yamanner" by antivirus-software maker Symantec Corp. (SYMC), spreads when users open the virus-ladden message. Users with email addresses ending @yahoo.com and @yahoogroups.com are at risk, though users of beta version of Yahoo's new Mail interface appear to be safe from the virus.
Yahoo spokespeople couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
The virus spreads by sending itself to addresses in its victims' contacts list and forwards the addresses it finds to a remote server on the Internet, perhaps in preparation for a future attack, Symantec said.
Unlike most other email viruses, infection by Yamanner doesn't require opening an attachment. The virus runs automatically when the message is opened using a previously unknown security hole in Yahoo's email program. The vulnerability enables scripts embedded in HTML emails to be run by a user's Web browser, Symantec said.
According to Web-application security firm SPI Dynamics, the virus spreads automatically thanks to Yahoo's use of the Ajax programming language, which allows for more dynamic Web pages and has been hailed as a key force behind the so-called Web 2.0.
"Ajax has the ability to make the security exploit completely invisible to the user as it does its damage in the background," SPI Labs said in an email to reporters.
According to Web-application security firm SPI Dynamics, the virus spreads automatically because it uses the Ajax programming language, a tool that allows for more dynamic Web pages and that has been hailed as a key force behind the so-called Web 2.0.
(A story published at 6:49 p.m. EDT Monday and 7:33 a.m. EDT Tuesday incorrectly reported that the virus spread automatically because Yahoo uses Ajax.)
