2022 Tickets and Passes Wanted/Offered Boards are NOW OPEN!

Post by trilobyte » Fri Apr 08, 2022 5:21 pm

Thanks to the hard work of some pretty awesome people on the Burning Man Tickets team and the Burning Man tech team, the Ticket Transfer Tool is now up and running, which means we have been given the go-ahead to open up the 2022 Tickets/Passes Offered and 2022 Tickets/Passes Wanted boards. Woohoo!

We do have rules for these boards! Please take a look at this post before you post in either board, and please be respectful of the rules.

If you're new to this process, let me fill you in on how it's worked in past years. Once our ticket boards open up (today, woohoo!), do not expect it to start raining Burning Man tickets. Typically, the opposite happens. All the initial posts will be from people who are seeking. That's totally normal, and do not despair. According to Black Rock Census info, each year roughly ⅓ of all Burning Man tickets change hands at least once between the time it was purchased and the time it gets to the Black Rock City gates. That's a pretty good number, but they don't all change hands in early spring. Most people buy tickets because they want to go, but life happens and plans can change between the day they were bought and when it's time to head to the desert.

Hang in there and be a positive part of your community. Whether it's participating on here or showing up for local meetups and gatherings, those are your opportunities to show others that you're the one they want to offer their ticket to, if it turns out they can't go. Sellers look at online posts, and sellers often ask about potential buyers. The overwhelming majority of burners are trying to do right by their camps and their communities, and they want to make sure that their ticket goes to a good home... participate and let them see how awesome and resourceful and prepared that you are. Good luck in your quest!
