The Museum of No Spectators

Post by absinthia » Tue Apr 05, 2022 1:23 pm

Hello!
John Marx and I are working on a huge project for Burning Man! We have been developing it for over two years, and we are so excited to bring it to the playa.
John is an architect and has designed a really cool eight gallery museum based on a conversation he and Absinthia had after her experience at the Oakland Museum of California’s exhibit, No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man. Absinthia, a burner since 1995 and Arctica staff, and John’s creation, the Museum of No Spectators, abs the question, What would a museum look like within the culture of Burning Man within Black Rock City? With the Gift Shop as the entrance and an artists led Gifting Shop, MoNS is highly participatory, immediate, and radically inclusive.
Please support our kickstarter and help make it happen! Every little bit counts.

Had a blast at the OMCA show and this sounds like a great idea for an on-playa art gallery!

This sounds great - if you need live music for any event there, let me know, we're hosting a lot of acts at Lost Penguin but, also love to get around the playa for cool parties of course.
Here's some stuff from 2019:
