Virgin looking for a quiet camp

I am from Taiwan! I am studying in Boston for 4 years (I am a half Bostonian). I will start my internship in early September so I do not know which city I will be in during the burn. I LOVE CATS. I have 2 cats in Boston. I free-dived 4 years ago. I miss the ocean but Boston is not a good place for free-diving. I play jazz piano/organ and some other instruments. I play jazz but I am not sure if I like jazz. I am very sure I love church music. If anyone has a piano/keyboard, I will love to share my music. I am studying music therapy now (graduating soon!!!). I am a photographer. I solo traveled to Japan many times. I can share some of my crazy traveling stories.

This is my first burn. I saw burning man on youtube and I fall in love with Black Rock City. I don't have a ticket. I have gone through half of the list on 2019 theme camps. I found some interesting camps and I sent out some emails and submitted some google forms on the camp's website. Some of the camps I could not find out how to reach out to them. It is hard to know how many people are in the camp and the culture of the camp. I am reaching out to some camps to know more about them.

I am looking for a small and quiet camp. I am not sure how burning man will be, google said it will be very loud. I want to have a crazy day and come back to a quiet camp to rest and maybe some marshmallows. I am still trying to figure out how to go to Black Rock City. Since I won't be able to drive a car or RV, I have a very high chance won't have a place to sleep. I saw some camps that have hammocks. I am not sure if it is appropriate to sleep in the camp's public area.

What I can offer:
Help setting up the camp
Clean the camp at the end
I can share one song I wrote (lyrics is about how to be a cat)
Cook for the camp
Play some light music by phone and bluetooth speaker
Share some stories about traveling around
I can bring some food or drink
Talk about how to be a cat! (I googled and google doesn't know. But I have a solution)
I play piano but I am not sure if I will be able to bring my keyboard to BRC
I am a photographer. I can help to shoot some nice pictures (I have both digital and film camera)
I have a very high chance being fasting during burning man which means I won't need to eat
I am good at making coffee (I will bring some single-origin coffee)

What I am looking for:
a shade to rest
a small and quiet camp
more stories about burning man 😸

Welcome to eplaya and the crazy world of Burning Man. There is lots to do before heading to the dust.
In my signature below are some helpful things to read. You'll need a ticket. Many camps are made up of friends who have been going for many years. You might want to join your local regional group and make some connections. You're going to have to leave the cat home. Animals are not allowed.
There are many unique theme camps, and when you find one that resonates with you, make that connection and sell yourself.
Good luck with your planning and I hope you make it to the playa this year.
Sham....

Fasting out there, terrible idea.
Don’t just plan on not eating. That’s literally the worst Burner prep I’ve ever heard.

The way it really works is you need to show up prepared as if no one else would be there. This isn’t an easy, book accommodations and fly in kind of thing.

Offering to cook for the camp doesn’t mean anything, offering to BRING THE FOOD does.
Playing music on a Bluetooth speaker means absolutely zero on the playa.
Talking and taking pictures… everyone does that.

What will get you there is researching the event, figuring out how to take care of your own logistics, and most of all… finding a ticket.
