Word Play Cafe is the place on playa for word game lovers to gather, play (solo or with others) and learn together. Stop by in the morning for drip coffee and our featured daily crossword. Visit us any time we are open to choose one of our variety of crosswords at all levels or browse our menu featuring a large sampling of popular and vintage word puzzles and games. Throughout the week we will also feature special events like live games just for kids, solving competitions and panel discussions about writing and solving word games. You can also enjoy one of the custom games we created just for Burning Man!

Want to join the fun?
We are looking for volunteers for build/strike, sewing and fundraising, as well as on-playa greeters and game hosts. We are based in the Bay Area but we welcome volunteers from anywhere to join us in Black Rock City.
