Liability around Build/Strike, etc

I am a co-lead on a first time project for this years Burn. Unfortunately we were not able to attend the Camp Lead Symposium and we find ourselves with an important question.

We are wanting to understand the dynamics that would occur should there be an accident that causes a participant to be seriously injured. Further, we want to know if the person who owns the thing that causes the injury is personally liable. For example, some one climbs our dome and falls despite us having signs saying that no one should climb, would the owner of the dome be protected by the general statement on the ticket that Burning Man is play at your own risk?

I know getting legal advice around this would require we retain a lawyer but Id love to know what others are thinking about around these issues.

You are not protected against anything, no matter what the ticket says.

Are you liable? - Lawyers can answer that. It's complicated. usually requires negligence to amount to anything.

Can you be sued? Of course! And it can be a nightmare.

Have individuals, camps, vehicles, installations, BM LLC been sued before? You bet they have.

If this keeps you up at night, try to find someone to underwrite a general liability policy. There is another thread about that somewhere here that has posted recently on that subject. Search around a bit. It wasn't good news.
