Ride Offered: San Francisco Bay area to/from. Selling ticket POSSIBLY

Post by iamvela » Mon Aug 08, 2022 12:50 pm

I am planning to drive out to the Playa from the Bay Area on Monday (29th) and returning Sunday (4th). I'll be driving an SUV with a bike rack with space for your bikes. (I could be convinced to move the dates around a wee bit)

I'm looking for someone to ride with (ideally both ways!), share driving/gas and good conversation with.

I am camping with a theme camp, and we could possibly accommodate one more person at the camp. My friend who was going with me has bailed. Ideally I'd like to find someone who can replace her at the camp too. IF you are that person, THEN I have a ticket (at subsidized cost) for sale. Theme camp dues are $375. Ticket is $475 level + costs.

I am a veteran burner, have been going for 9 years. They say I'm great fun, and awesome company, but what do I know? ;-)

Any takers? Feel free to DM me.

Commodification award. $475 means this was steward sale? for essential camp members? Placement might like an adjustment for how many tickets you need next year.

my apologies, I really misread this: you aren't leveraging a ride for yourself, offering one instead, albeit conditional, something a lot of people could benefit from, and this could actually be a good fit for some of the people looking for camps, tickets etc. It seemed to me to be an unforseen misuse of the of the stewards ticket program plus your camp needing paid members, relative to the number of tickets available in general sale, my bias.

Thank you for the apology - I appreciate it.

Some people may still be confused by your language. To paraphrase:
  • this IS A GOOD USE of the ticket
  • I am offering a ride
You are correct, this is an unexpected scenario when an essential camp member is having to bail because of a child's health concerns.

Thanks. :)

Wow! This looks absolutely perfect for my husband who has been working Gate for for 8 years straight until we had a baby. He is dying to go back this year. He teaches glassblowing at the crucible and keeps printers running for several cities around SF. He is an awesome driver and super dependable and provides excellent customer service and silly jokes and playa escapades. Debbie 617-388-9257 [email protected]
