CARGO BIKE - more LEFT than LOST

I am Mandarin (Miranda), camp lead of StarFist. Fugue & 4.15 - 2022.

This year, I was still clearing our space at Fugue & 4.15, until Tues/Weds post-Burn. We managed to pack up and fit everything in our containers or my friend's van except for my cargo bike which has been the transport for my daughter these past 7 years.

We could not fit my bike anywhere and in my slightly brain-addled state, I decided to temporarily gift my bike to the playa and leave it for some person who may be in need (I left it with a full bottle of water also). I wrote a message on the side stating it was there for loan if someone needed to use it and if they could inform me on whatsapp of where it was left, I would endeavour to collect it next year.

Sadly, no one got in touch so I can only imagine that DPW or the MOOP team found it and it was classified as MOOP. So I have no idea if it was taken, gifted or stored somewhere.

Now that I'm back in default and considering all that was lost this year, I am hoping to find out if anyone knows its whereabouts. I'm happy if someone is making good use of it - with love. But also ultimately wishing that I might get it back before next year's Burn 2023. If anyone has a suggestion or guidance on how to proceed - I presume that the MOOP/LNT people might have stumbled across it. But I don't have an email for that department and was unable to find one.

The attachment is a photo of it from 2016. It has a message scrawled on one side and on the front it has an orange stencil of envelopes.

Any help is most gratefully appreciated.

Huge moop, and somebody has to take it off playa for the blm inspection. It’s not a gift.

Where did you leave this? Your camp plot, or somewhere else?

Playa brain is real.

It is important to over plan camp breakdown labor and outbound hauling capacity.

Successful participation affects placement in future years.

Time always moves forward like an arrow.
The playa teaches participants lessons every year.

There is a non-org affiliated mutual aid group for restoration and on playa needs. It might be a way to continue your inquiries, or contribute to their efforts. There are some email addresses. I don’t have verification it is a legit place to send funds, but it may be a way to connect with the Gerlach volunteers.

https://www.brcaid.org
And a resto email: You can find out more about Playa Restoration by emailing [email protected].

I agree. It was bad judgement on my part. I unfortunately ended up in hospital as a result of this whole mess so I am trying not to beat myself up about the mistakes I left behind.

And I thought it was better than leaving trash or broken bicycles - which we managed to take away.

Hi Papa Bear,

Yes, it was left next to the container at F & 4.15.

It was still there Tuesday at 7am when I drove out.

And "gifting" something to the playa is absolutely unacceptable. I agree with the above post about entitlement. It probably went to the dump.
