So my partner and I got lucky enough to purchase 2 tickets in the main sale, but in the rush of things we somehow forgot to select vehicle pass (we thought we did and realised too late once paid).
We're travelling from Australia and have paid for a rental van already as we're travelling for two months in the US, so our attendance is pretty much riding on the vehicle pass... oops.
I'm hoping someone reads this and has one they could sell to us or knows someone who does, but failing that, does anyone have advice on best avenue to obtain one?
The website says you are only eligible for STEP if you have not purchased tickets in a previous sale, and even if we hadn't, it says you can only buy a vehicle pass with a ticket. If we bought another ticket to get a vehicle pass with it wouldn't our tickets be voided as we've gone over the ticket purchase limit of 2?
Lastly, it seems that most advise against buying from other sites as many people get scammed by the seller.
We're a little lost for options now, does anyone have an alternative for us to try that is less likely for us to end up with a scam ticket?

The low income ticket sale comes with an opportunity to purchase a vehicle pass. But the low income ticket awards I think come in May. So start making friends with low income ticket applicants in your regional and social networks that you would enjoy a rideshare with!

According to the ticketing page, vehicle passes can only be bought in conjunction with one or more tickets in any sale (main, omg, step, etc). If you and your partner each bought a single ticket then you both cannot participate in another sale for 2023. If one of you bought a pair of tickets then the other can still participate in one of the upcoming sales and buy a vehicle pass if offered a ticket.

Also vehicle passes, like tickets, can and do start to change hands and become available in the burner community in the weeks leading up to the event. You have until then to connect with burners to try and find one through the community. The ability to come early/stay late and usefulness in building things on or pre-playa can often go a long way towards ingratiating yourself amongst burner communities.
