Vehicle Pass Issue Question

Burners:
My friend and I have 2 tickets to burning man and unfortunately forgot to click the vehicle pass. I, later, bought an extra ticket with vehicle pass hoping that I could sell the ticket back to BM and keep the vehicle pass. In corresponding with burning man (not Lyte) they informed and instructed us to transfer the vehicle pass via burning man.org and we did (receipt shows it was transferred). When I sold my ticket via STEP the vehicle pass was also returned and both burning man and Lyte informed us that the vehicle pass I transferred to my friend was unfortunately voided. We are trying to resolve the issue via both channels but it has proven unsuccessful so far.
What would be our best option for acquiring a vehicle pass given this situation?
Right now our options are:
1) buy from another seller via BM and transfer a pass (not favourable because our experience has proven we could easily get ripped off and someone could easily return the transferred ticket via Lyte)
2) Purchase from a third party such as Stub Hub (same issue as above)
3) I proposed that we request a cheaper $1500 FOMO sale ticket with Vehicle Pass via Lyte and split the cost (easier option) but I feel we’re going against the spirit of burning man. It is not about money for us, but we are in a bit of a unfortunate situation and want to go. We are considering this option because we have purchased two tickets at this price range already and would have to successfully sell the ticket to another burner. We would hate to have this ticket wasted.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
