BRCU Scholarship ticket

Hey, y’all. Black Rock Center for Unlearning* is in year two of the BRCU Scholarship Project.
We will award one ticket each to two separate individuals who meet the following qualifications:
1. You must be a new burner.
2. You may not be associated with any past or present member of BRCU.**
3. You must be 21 years of age on or before August 28, 2022.***
The purpose of this project is to increase access to a wildly inaccessible event with what resources we have. With that in mind, only folks who demonstrate financial need and/or belong to a group whose voices have been or are marginalized will be considered. You will be asked to provide this information for purposes of qualifying only. Recipients will be chosen at random (old school numbered papers in a hat!) from qualifying applicants. You will be asked to provide an email address for the sole purpose of contacting selected recipients.
If you are selected, you will receive:
-One Burning Man Ticket for the 2023 event, at will call
-The option to camp with BRCU free of cost****
-Additional direct financial assistance to help you recoup other costs associated with attending Burning Man may be available*****
We will be accepting applications until 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on Friday August 4, 2023.
I will do my absolute best to answer relevant questions timely. I will probably wholly ignore irrelevant questions.

*We are a ten plus year veteran placed theme camp. We focus on acculturation and welcome close to 50% new burners each year because we were started by mostly new burners.
**We’re big on the magic of welcoming the stranger. We reserve nepotism for stuff other than being welcomed in camp.
***We also run a 24 hour bar.
****You don’t have to and whether you want to or not has no bearing on consideration of your application. We’re not for everyone and that’s fine. Maybe you already have friends you’d like to camp with. Maybe you hate loud people like me. It’s all good. Anyway, free of cost means you will not pay dues and you will not pay a deposit. We will ask you for zero dollars. You will be expected to participate in camp to the same degree as other campers, which includes participating in strike on Sunday, taking one bag of camp garbage or recycling, and working 3 shifts in camp during the event (Shifts are camp meal prep, meal clean up, compost, recycling,or graveyard bartending. They are not particularly difficult and range from probably 90 minutes to up 3 hours, except for graveyard bartending, which is quite a bit longer, but the choice is yours). You will also need to read our camp information document and complete our camp intake survey if you choose to camp with us. We work together to have two meals per day (including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options), 10 gallons of personal use water, private potties, a camp shower (like literally a solar shower bag, or maybe a pump sower, nothing fancy), interactivity with BRC.
*****Actual cash, handed to you upon arrival. You are not required to account for any of your expenses. If you do not camp with BRCU, you will need to actually come to BRCU to pick this up.
