Looking Indigenous Campers

Post by BigDaddy » Fri Mar 31, 2023 4:28 pm

We are looking for Burners from the indigenous, first nations, and aboriginal tribes from around the world. Looking for Indegenious people of North (tribally registered or descendant through blood line or US Federslly recognized) For example I am a descendant of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate which is currently located on the Lake Traverse Reservation in South Dakota. My great grandfather, grandfather and mom are all registered members. Using the definition that listed in the UN for Indigenous people.

I am Native American. From the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe (also called the Ojibwe).

That said, I do not know of a camp of Indigenous people. You might find one or two here and there. If I were you I would look for a camp that has what you are looking for and introduce yourself to the camp organizers. Tell them what skills you bring to the table.

Edit, oops, IPOW-Indigenous People of World is you!
You're looking for the people, not a camp. My mistake. Good luck!

Burners are private.

Try
https://burningman.org/?s=diversity, https://burningman.org/?s=indigenous
and
connections to the Pyramid Paiutes via https://blackrockdesert.org/

Journal.burningman.org sometimes discusses it and may have names you can reach out to.
