First time burner seeking a camp

Post by Irish_Brady » Tue Apr 11, 2023 9:04 am

Hi Burners

I promised myself I would 'burn' before turning 40 and well... that time is running out... (I turn 40 in November).

I'm trying to navigate figuring out the logistics of getting to and camping at Burning Man. Its a little tricky.

I'm a socially responsible professional guy who believes that life is what you make it and trying new experiences are the fuel to living a fulfilling life.

I bought a solo ticket to burning man this year because I'm seeking a personal journey enriched by the people I hope to meet at burning man.

I would love to hear from camp organizers to see if I might be a fit for your camp.

Born and grew up in Ireland. Based in New York for work.

Cheers,
Mark

What are you planning to provide for yourself? Are you bringing your own shelter, food, water? What are your expectations of camp membership? Are you interested in helping build a theme camp’s contribution to the city? Have you studied threads here? Have you studied the main website? Have you tried reading what theme camps there were last year and reached out to any that aligned with your interests, like minded groups? Have you reached out to any burner groups where you live? Fundraisers and other get togethers are a good way to meet your local burners. Ask how they managed their burns. https://regionals.burningman.org/region ... h-america/

When you contact a theme camp don't ask what they can provide for you but say what you can provide for the camp, where your skills and interests are.
No spectators!
Everyone is so politically fucked up that they're segregating themselves in the name of equal rights and liberation.

Welcome, Irish_Brady!

If you are largely self-reliant (i.e. not seeking a meal plan or showers) and are ready to be versatile and fun, look up Stag Camp on FB. Bonus for bike repair skills, or literally any others (building stuff, guying stuff down, staying late to help strike camp, etc).

No dues, no hand-holding, no bullshit, just a place to camp--and nice people.
