The Playa Restoration All-Star Team is expanding short-time volunteer opportunities!
We're opening our ranks for a few days during the weeks of Playa Restoration for locals and Burners who are super excited to come help us get through some big pushes. Due to infrastructure limitations, we can’t receive everyone for the entirety of Playa Resto, so we’ve chosen two sets of dates that will have the biggest impact on our success. We invite you to apply to join us on one or both of the following working-vacations!
Please apply by FILLING OUT THIS FORM: "Jump-In Volunteer Resto Support Application" - https://forms.gle/gnrRFXBMXtkQP9nL9
*** DO NOT arrive in Gerlach unless you have received an email confirming your acceptance and which dates you’ve been cleared for. Walk-Ups will be turned away. ***
Timeframe:
[WEEK ONE] THUR - SAT, September 21st - 23rd. Leaving without a trace by noon Sunday, September 24th. CUT OFF TO APPLY IS 12PM ON TUESDAY, September 19th.
[WEEK TWO] WED - FRI, September 27th - 29th. Leaving without a trace by noon Saturday, September 30th. CUT OFF TO APPLY IS 6PM ON SUNDAY, September 24th.
Things to know:
- Be self-sufficient. This means that you have your own vehicle, your own shelter, bring your own food for all your meals during your entire stay, and are prepared to set up at a designated campsite outside of the Burning Man Closure area. There will be water and porto-toilets available.
- Be able to commit to the time-frame we agree upon before you head to Gerlach - this means you don't show up early, and you pack up and head out by noon the day after your last shift. This is a really important part of our agreement.
- Do not arrive expecting to sort/claim any valuables of seemingly abandoned camps. Understand that taking something from the event site (or that may seem to be abandoned from around the Gerlach area) that is not yours is considered theft.
- Be able to abide by our policies, protocols and behavioral standards while you are a guest of the DPW. More info at dpw.burningman.com and Burning Man's Behavioral Standards Agreement (https://docs.google.com/.../1EK1amwolqH ... sJ2f1HzCXa...)
- No Dogs, No Pets, everyone must be 21+ Years of Age.
We hope to see you out here soon!
