FIRST THIS: OMG People!, so many found phones in our 2025 collection, and only a handful were labeled with return information. Cell carriers who have helped us return phones to their owners in the past have withdrawn support this year. Sadly this means a bunch will eventually be donated to charity when we shut things down later this year. We can do better. Next Burn label your phone and ANYTHING of value you want back. PLEASE!
Okay. Here are three places to look for your stuff:
- The Lost and Found website, where you can search the photo database. Follow the instructions if you see what may be your lost item.
- The ePlaya bulletin board, where our community posts many lost items they’ve found.
- Your own gear when unpacking.
Do not come to Burning Man Headquarters to pick up lost items because you saw it on the database.
(Found items are nearby, but not at BMHQ.) The Lost & Found volunteers are diligently dealing with a literal truckload of phones, backpacks, and other lost items; they will contact you as soon as your item is located and ready for return. Each lost item case is handled by a human being, so it takes time to reunite an owner with their lost possessions. If pickup is San Francisco isn’t an option: we ship to the address you provide, and then you reimburse us for shipping. Deal?
