HTTPS and Load Balancer

Post by trilobyte » Wed Dec 18, 2013 11:54 am

Over the last couple weeks, the ever-awesome Burning Man tech team has help us roll out a couple great back-end improvements. The first is a load balancer, which will help ePlaya manage high volume and lots of traffic when things get busy around here (when big announcements get made, ticket sales, placement news, etc).

The other is HTTPS - for improved security.

Both these things happen on the back-end, and don't require you to do anything special. The site should just run more smoothly during peak times, and provide you with a more secure connection whether you visit the site on a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Big thanks to Backbone and the rest of the Tech Team, the rest of the mod team (who helped out with testing), and everyone on the site for having a little patience with us (and entering CAPTCHA codes during every login) when there were a couple hiccups along the way.

If you experience any technical problems with the site, you can send me a private message or post about it here. Thanks!
