2027 Art Theme: Spellbound

In case you missed posts on the Burning Man Journal or social media, Burning Man has announced its 2027 art theme: Spellbound

For those who may be new to Burning Man, the art theme is completely optional. There will be people who dive right in and create camps, costumes and other art that plays with the idea, and there will also be people who do their own thing. I'm excited to see what kinds of things people come up with. What do you think? Like it? Love it? Hate it?
As always, art installations are welcome and encouraged in Black Rock City, whether embodying this year’s theme or not. Information about the 2027 Honoraria Art Grant program can be found here.The 2027 Burning Man theme plumbs the mysteries of playa magic, from the serendipity of resonant coincidence to the gobsmacked awe of seeing things that cannot possibly be, and yet somehow are. It is an invitation to consider the nature of enchantment itself; to delve into the enigmatic depths of your own psyche, where belief and disbelief collide and the stories we are told bleed into the stories we tell ourselves, and in turn into the realities we construct for others.
