Found seven feathers this year whereas the previous two or three years I found none or two and the previous two were the boa-type feathers.
(The thing that looks like a butterfly or moth is really a feather or two feathers.)

Much less MOOP this year than previous years.

Its not "fuck yer burn" any more. Its fuck yer feathers. That was what I was thinking all week as I futilely attempted to snag little furry feathers blowing by all week. I love feathers, they are beautiful. But

FUCK YER FEATHERS!!!

I hope there is a stern backlash from the org and they re-ban feathers next year just so I can be a smart arse and make a giant sport mascot style feather costume. Like the costume would be a giant foam feather with my face and arms and legs sticking out, and I would wear it on esplanade and heckle people wearing feathers.

Also a good idea, we could stand at opposite sides of the street and develop a rivalry.

One photo-shoot of feathers in Rolling Stone is worth a handful of feathers out on the playa.

finding feathers on the playa is creepy and disappointing, knowing they are probably the result of MOOP and vanity
(The Ravens were back!)

finding feathers in the forest is wonderful
finding feathers from the neighboring cats is unpleasant too

Doesn't she do a completely different chicken every year? Actually, it seems like the costumes and the poses are exactly the same except for the different color feathers.

They call it the Phoenix, yet if I suggest I want to see it after it goes into the fire, I'm somehow the negative misguided monster.

I can verify that about 60 feathers were picked up along the trash fence from the 12:00 point to the extension of the esplanade where the emergency vehicles enter. A group of about 10 of us cleaned up a bunch of MOOP on Sunday morning. The biggest amount of MOOP was TP! Yuck.

unless the feathers are from a crow, picking over your lifeless corpse they don't belong on the playa.

It's all good.

Majormediamoop.jpg
So this photographer has been coming for years, makes alittle scratch off the Burn, encourages people to wear feathers........ It's all good.
One professional photoshoot in the bank is worth 100 mooped feathers out on the playa. Way to go!!!!
Hell, look how blissed out the model is, almost like a real Burner having a good time on the playa....almost.......

I'm pretty sure she's the artist that made that costume. She has been doing that for several years, a different costume every year. There was a bit of an outcry from the community the first time she did it as I recall. And, not sure about this, but I think that might have had something to do with the recent chane in policy regarding feathers.

Edit: actually, scrolling up the thread there are several pics of her in some of her different art works, as she calls them, from previous years.

Dust mops (moops?) are not "art works". I find great fault with her vision. Fuck feathers.

I'm mitt AntiM, fuck feathers and other moopy art..

So all "you learned" in school was to glue feathers.. If you had stuck with it you could have found other art in the following years..

But, but, without feathers, how are we going to bring our attack hawks?

Wow, talk about ignoring the elephant in the room: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/o ... 5-festival
Glastonbury has agreed to restrict the sale of Native American-style headdresses at their 2015 event. An online petition garnering just 65 signatures was enough to sway the administration of the UK’s most famous music festival
I wonder how many signatures were on the petition to CLEAN UP YOUR FUCKING TRASH.

No, no, restricting the sale of Native American-style headdresses in the UK is far more important than picking up your fucking moop. Cause... you know... Mother Earth can't sign a petition.

Give me a break.
