diane o'thirst,.. I can't afford Luminex either, I saw one person this year that had some pants made out of it heading into a dance club. So cool! Do you know what is required as a light source, power supply or what ever else that would be needed to make a garment?

WOW, awesome stuff. Are you talking directly to the people in Italy or to the Zuzka people in New York?

DAMN that looks like awesome stuff!

Zuzka, unless someone comes on board that can speak fluent Italian. It is awesome stuff, it's appallingly spendy but I definitely think it's worth it, like Kobe beef (only longer-lasting). You can only enjoy that for an hour, but something like a Luminex banner, kite, cape or scarf you can enjoy for much, much longer.

It's powered by a cellphone battery, they sell them on the Luminex site for 8 Euros. They also have purses, pillows and placemats.

the biosphere... kind of difficult, but it would be cool to see some things actually growing. I loved seeing that lawn out there.

Yep. It rates on my Playa Rightness Scale somewhere around 9.2. Pretty much the same score that the folks who hand carried the blown hemi engine on the wooden platform a while back.

mmmm, yes. that has been one of the best burn accents i have witnessed in the years i have gone.
right when the man started to flame up, the guy started the blown big block and opened it up to the fire creeping up the man. perfect fit.

For Bman's twentieth year, how about the 25th anniversary performance by Survival Research Laboratories? I realize they probably wouldn't show up, so it will be up to us to create a faux-SRL; the performance we imagine they might choose to produce were they in fact at Bman 2005. I imagine paper mache figures of a hypothetical audience standing the preferred ten feet from the micro-nuke. Oops! There they go! Look over there: the Humongous Claw Hammer pile-driver is running amok; there go another fifty spectators. Aaak; now all the robots are scooting across the playa to attack the Man...

Regarding next years theme,
I have consulted the Gut on it, and the Gut says:
"Quantum Physics."

But it will not be given such a direct title - it will be a nebulous, overly complicated simile that is intended to mean quantum physics (like last year's theme of 'Space'...) - might I suggest "Microcosmic Hyperdimensional Multiverses and the Burners Who Love Them?"

Of course I could be wrong.

But the Gut is never wrong.

I hate it when my Gut sez that. All that jumping around means that I'll end up praying to the porceline god by-and-by.

I was chatting with Larry and he told me what 2005 theme will be:

WordPerfect Spreadsheets.

I swear. It's the truth.

Suggested this theme on another post:

"Underworlds"

But, "Genitals of the Universe" and "Terror in Toontown" have some possibilities too.

WRONG!

Get with the program. Obviously the theme for next year is:

Petitions: The New Art Form

Everyone that shows up has to bring Larry a signed partition for something or other. I'm all for relocating Koko the killer whale to Black Rock.

Why stop at petitions- its time for the MANIFESTO!

Ok, we at APOKILIPTIKA can arrange the stage and a rally crowd with banners... all we need now are the speeches.

BYOAB- Bring your own arm bands.

Oh! Good to know, I'm already done! I have the Britney Spears in Black Rock City petition up and running already. Signatory number one was Chicken, with the comment "I will kill you." It made me feel the burner love.

*hugs self*
