Burning Man vs local politics
With the funding problems, why is this even a project?

You got a Cliff Notes summary?
The first couple minutes was a bit flat on content and heavy on some kind of burny yoga circle with healing crystals vibe.

Re: Burning Man vs local politics
Cliff Notes - the Burning Man office staff has nothing to do. So someone came up with a brain fart in a staff meeting: politics something something ten principals something something we can interview three politicians about something something.
That's wasted staff time rather than keeping a focus on actual diversity at the actual event. What's next, interviewing Elon about how Burning Man has made him a better person? It is another example of the messianic delusion that the world revolves around Burning Man, that everything good in the world is because of Burning Man and that everything bad in the world is a lack of Burning Man. It's modern marketing.
Portland has a lot of problems, but I'm not voting for the Portland one of the three, even though she has some sustainability insights learned in school.

I got that drift with a few brief fast-forward spots but wasn’t going to waste an hour of my time on it.

I will fall on my ePlaya sword for typing principals in place of principles. I am being extremely bad on a Labor Day morning. The keyboard got away from me. On the other hand, how many are on the inner board? About 10 Burning Man principals?
Also it's Labor Day, happy Labor is a good thing.

Electing progressive politicians at the local, state, and Federal level is incredibly important. Much more important, in my view, then expanding diversity at that thing in the desert.
One is an existential political crisis--the other is a fun picnic. If we continue to elect conservative, idiot Republicans, the chances that open-air events will resume in the near future will remain significantly curtailed.
Kudos to BMORG for using their money for something relatively important and staying political engaged in an off-year.
