Images of The Man in unexpected places

Post by burningtora » Sat Feb 24, 2007 1:39 pm

An Atlanta designer put this sign together for an Arkansas shopping mall.
Could they be a burner? The image looks very familiar...

Any other images of The Man "outside the playa" would be of interest here.

The article says the company that did the sign is near my neck of the woods.

Hmmm...

I've seen other stuff around Louisville too. I'll have to try and remember where I saw it now.

And from Lexington? Oh- the humiliation!

Okay- it's not thaaaaat dramatic... but if that stupid mall sign is because of the sticker on my car, I apologize.

I see this three different ways:
1: For Pete's sake it's in Arkansas! They need any kind of "culture" they can get down there so why not introduce a little "burner" essence into a culture wasteland! It sure beats a Razorback logo which is plastered all over the darn place.
2: Oh my gawd, it's logo infringement! Call the attorneys! Sue!
3: This is a preview of what to expect if John Law does win the lawsuit.

Artists have a long tradition of sneaking images into art.
There is a certain state capitol that has a goddess in stained glass in the dome.
Wouldn't you?
"Everything is more wonderful when you do it with a car, don't you think?"
-girl by the fire, watching a tree moved by car bumper in the bonfire

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

Um Hmmm... my thoughts exactly. LCN. So tell me, what *have* you been doing in your spare time??

Congratulations, and our condolences. Now returning you to your regularly scheduled pogrom...)

I have a Hula Hoop Man decal that looks even MORE like that shopping mall icon....
Hey! Signs Of The Times magazine! I used to love looking through that back in my neon sign days! Lots of state-of-the art blinkytoys to drool over.
