Oh the Paradox!

There used to be a time, when it seemed Burners were coming to Burning Man in part to get away from the nagging, obsessive conformity, and guilt trips given by the regular world or large corporations or established religions.

Then there was some conscious effort to adhere to a new set of 10 Principles that would help the Burners to manage their own awareness of which they are quite proud of, and to help deal with their increasing diversity and quantity of friends.

Some grumblings and dissatisfaction continue to occur. And there were new stories, rumors, and intrigue of who was a â€œPure Burnerâ€

Truly.
Irony runs deep in the hearts and minds of the true burners.
All others should look deep inside themselves and feel shame for their pretense and mockery of the original Burner Doctrines:

But in the end there is only the desert and mankind.
And truly the desert will rule over all of it`s subjects.
Man shall never conquer, but only exist by grace and chance.
The moist will become dry.
The clean shall be rendered filthy.
The Naysayers will say Yay.
And the Yaysayers will say Nay.
The money changers at CenterCamp might run out of change,
thereby having to round the purchase price of Cappuccinos up
to the nearest dollar amount.
The ice will melt veggies will perish the bread will turn rancid.
Mighty grey lions of dust will prowl both day and night
and none shall escape their alkaline grasp.
Only those who steep themselves in knowledge and preparation
will escape unscathed.
