SUPPORT THE SKATE AGAINST VIOLENCE

On Saturday, April 5, 2008, members of the Black Rock Roller Disco will be presenting a fundraising roller disco party to raise funds to support the Skate Against Violence Roadskate from San Francisco to Santa Monica. Come get your skate groove on at Imola Maxwell School and support SAV. We have transformed the gym into San Francisco's greatest roller disco rink. The party starts at 8PM and goes until 1AM. This is a costume thang, so please come showing your creativity. Maybe we can break a record for the most skaters doing the "Thriller" dance!!!! There's plenty of space, so if you don't feel like skating you can dance you ass off.

The school is located at 655 De Haro Street. That intersects at 18th St. on Potero Hill in San Francisco. It's $15.00 per person. $5.00 for skate rentals.

The Skate Against Violence Campaign is a three pronged effort to strongly raise awareness of the positive aspects inline skating and roller skating can bring to the lives of youth and adults alike and give people a fun, healthy alternative they can enjoy. We also want to lift the image of skating from "toy vehicle" to viable alternative transportation. This can have an enormous impact in the minds of people who will benefit from the social interaction and the physical conditioning skating will bring into their lives. The details on the Campaign can be found at http://www.cora.org/SFtoLA2008.htm

The SAV Roadskate will kick off the 2008 SAV Campaign. We will leave San Francisco on Monday, April 14 at about 9AM. We will arrive at the Santa Monica Pier at about 2PM on Thursday, April 17. The cost of presenting the Skate Against Violence Roadskate is $8,350.00. We are seeking sponsorship and donations to cover the costs of presenting this effort. Before you make any kind of donation, please take a look at why we skate against violence at http://www.cora.org/WhySkateAgainstViolence.htm

Afterwards, if you feel you want to support this effort, you can make a donation online at: http://www.active.com/donate/SkateAgainstViolence You will be helping out plenty just by coming out to our fundraising party. You will be donating to a great cause while having a funky good time on skates.

Keep Rollin',
