Five Years with No Playa Name

One of my goals this year is to introduce mythology and mystique into my vernacular. As such, I think I finally understand why I would want to have a Playa name.

The trouble is, I've gone for 5 years (2004-2008; not 2009) and never had one. Always just Jason ... like in 51-week life. I never particularly liked the ones I was given -- they were always too incomplete-feeling, or just not interesting enough. I'm especially interested to hear from people who had this problem and what changed.

I'm presently mulling over what to call myself but I spiral into insane "letterology", acronyms, derivations ... blech.

I started with one I'd given myself. S.C. Libertine - name of my Etsy shop.

Have aquired some more, from others, in addition to another from myself.

So now I have...4-5, depending on who you're talking to.

took 10 years to get mine; happened last year spontaneously, randomly, and universally... kinda weird, that, but it's the perfect name for me! Well worth the wait....

mom gave me mine well over 20 years ago. she used to call me a social misfit, friends later shortened it to misfit.......

I was originally maggiemayday from my Hayduking days, but everyone shortened it to Maggie. Meh. A nephew used Anti M (Auntie M) and it stuck.

I used to know a Navy pilot named Racin' Jason, a true dickish dick.

I think I got mine in 1990?

I lived in Tahoe...and I was THE mom, to all my daughters friends, I helped start the first "headstart" in Tahoe and all the Hispanic mom's could speak english.
So everyone just started calling me Pinemom, in spanish it was mamapinos.

Then the internet came along, again the name pinemom came to mind for a s/n.....

it was more official as my s/n on aolhell.

Then BM happened...what will I call myself...well duh...Pinemom.

Then in the last 2 yrs ...Ive decided that the name sometimes comes with a job....mom...
Kinda getting tired of being a MOM 24/7/365
So Im ATTEMPTING at breaking a 20 yr nick name....call me Piney.
Im done being everyones mom. Except the ones I bore outa my body.

I decided to go with "Zhust" (which would be pronounced very similar to "just"). I like that "just" means both "sufficiently" (like just enough) and "fair" (like justice). I like that Zhust has a dorky spelling, so there are only a few on the Internets.

The big problem with playa names is the ease to remember them when you are meeting new people all day long.

These two would be easy to identify yourself with, as far as that goes.

My ePlaya handle is an offshoot playa name--it is an abbreviation of my small free-lance arts business, CLARK conceptual. Comes in handy when in Terminal City (Apok, Booby Bar, etc.) wheras may not know a particular individual, but after hearing the eDust name, I can see their avatar in my head & know worlds of stories
