Using Burning Man to Sell... Telephones?
Check out this video - just posted on Youtube. This company went pretty far with mimicking Burning Man as a draw in to sell their shit.

Burning Man is a meme. It is used as an analogy for freedom (based on my crappy Spanish).

Do you have a translation? I don't understand what's being said, so it's hard to really figure out whether they are or not.

From their webpage, it looks like insurance. Burning Man as the Spanish version of Flo?

I think the giant head should have been dripping fire or snot.
Give me an underground laboratory, half a dozen atom-smashers, and a beautiful girl in a diaphanous veil waiting to be turned into a chimpanzee, and I care NOT who writes this nation’s laws. ... S.J. Perelman

They missed the essence of shirtcockers and hippies riding behind the water truck. And the blue tents.
But otherwise, fine.

Seriously? This is the actual English translation youtube provided:Ugly Dougly wrote:Youtube provides captions with English translation. No es tan dificulo.
There may be a sentence break after "repairer network".YouTube wrote:denis ball sufferers feel their skin to be altitude when the workshop his co-star pouring awake because we lower the price of two euros to use our repairer network you had parliament so every 39 degrees earth as relatives
I think we're better off randomly guessing. Our spammers write clearer paragraphs than that...

Yeah, Verti, a subsidiary of Mapfre, is a company that sells insurance.

Anyway, what's wrong with them using Burning Man inspired imagery? It just makes more Spaniards hungry for tickets.

Re: Using Burning Man to Sell... Telephones?
Ano - I didn't see any Trojan Horse. The horse sculpture I saw reminded me more of a piece I'd seen in pictures from 2002/2003 than anything else.
UD - thanks for the tip, though I suspect something was lost in translation. It certainly didn't mention Burning Man though.
Based on what I made out from the translation, I don't think they were "using Burning Man" to sell whatever the hell it was they were selling. Sure, it might have been influenced by either the event or pictures and videos that someone has seen from the playa, but it could have come from other stuff too. Art, costumes, and exotic locations are not exclusives. I agree with VultureChow & Eric, they really did a great job with the piece, without saying anything about it they created a fun creative atmosphere and conveyed the idea of breaking out of the norm or thinking outside of the box. It made me smile.

I mistook one of the car's pony-heads as a giant sculpture in the background. Whoops!

It's an insurance ad campaign... It appears that it might have been filmed at Nowhere, or I should say the site they use, since the advertising is CLEARLY in Castilian Spanish. C'mon you all know Spanish accents?

I know every inch of the black rock desert and this was not filmed on it. Looks like a blast though and my kind of people.

In conclusion, we should invite YouTube's translation technology to read poetry at Center Camp.Eric wrote:Seriously?
