Yes, a childish A-Hole for sure. Must you incite. I agree with the 'get a room' post. And the room is PM. Although the messages might end up public anyway. You both seem like that kind of guy. New eplayans view moderators as leaders and referees. What kind of face are you putting on our board by declaring that we ALL would like someone to shut up? You are doing Eplaya a disservice.

Speak for yourself. You should be ashamed of your pettiness. I've received reprimands and compliments as PM from Mods. I respect their opinions. You don't have that respect. Try leading by example.

If a pregnant woman comes into our bar and orders a wine I quietly say to myself, "Wow. That's just wrong." I don't say, "Hey pregnant lady get out. Everyone here wants you to go". I would like to, but it's not my place to make the world play by my rules. I'm the bar manager. That's the equivalent of a Mod.

Maybe Elderberry was slightly out of line with a very mild negative opinion... so now the whole board is gonna go all to hell, right?

Simon: My sincere thanks for your post. Elderberry was kind enough to PM me and let me know about your post.

I acknowledge the many truths that you wrote about in your post. I can't address any of them in detail because the past 3 weeks on here have left me drained and tired. I simply don't have the energy to discuss what I've experienced on here in recent weeks or what I've written in this, that or the other post. What I will say is that I do not consider my opinions on BM or my contributions to BM to be more important or valid than those had or made by any other burner. I truly am a nobody in the community. When I've spoken about my contributions to the event it was only in the letter that I wrote to BM in November or when I got attacked in here in recent days. I'm not an egoist and I'm not belligerent or confrontational. I try my best to meet imbalanced criticism of me with a calm head and logic. No matter what some people on here may think of me I know that I've done a good job of being a good citizen on here. If you met me in person I think that you'd quickly see that I'm not a thin skinned, recidivist rabble rouser who's losing sleep over Larry & Co.'s lesser behavior. I've spoken my peace about the ComCamp Controversy and I was already moving on from that clusterf*ck of a topic and debate before I was recently repeatedly blindsided on here.

I really need a VERY LONG break from here. The past few weeks on here have taken their toll on certain aspects of my relationship with BM. My time away from here will help me heal and recharge. I need to do something adult and intelligent which is to intentionally walk away from a situation that's not healthy for me.

Thanks again for your post. I sincerely appreciate it and I tip my hat to you for writing it. Happy Holidays to you and yours. Be well.

Elderberry, this is not a Moderator's personal opinion. It is a personal attack by a moderator. It creates dysfunction on the board, if Moderators keep that up, someday they will have only themselves left to moderate. Your are over the line IMO.
No, it's not. That is my own personal opinion. Everything I post in these forums is my own personal opinion. I had them before I became a mod and I still have them. And believe me, if you think it was an attack, you haven't been following Lonesomebri's post about me.

My post was eaten by the inter Webs! Just as well.

Eb didn't say anything most of us weren't thinking. Moderators on this board have always had strong opinions. I've been smacked around by one in particular.

As I said in another thread, I might actually agree with some posts, but you are such asses or just so damned tedious, I don't want to be associated with you. I have zero interest chatting with you here or in the dust. It's my vacation and I don't want to waste any of it on ya'll. Simon is again a far nicer person than I.

I have however let the BMorg know my thoughts on commercial camps and jt.

In a perfect world I would refuse to serve her. I've worked in that casino for over 35 years. I've seen a lot. I also know my place. If I were sitting next to her as a customer sure. As a paid employee I respect the rules, wishes of my employer and laws in California. If you say that chihuahua is a service dog. So be it. I don't like it either.

Considering that moderate drinking(one or two glasses a week), especially late in pregnancy, has been shown to be harmless, and possibly beneficial, I always keep my mouth shut.

You're more likely to harm the fetus by contributing to the mother's stress levels with self-righteous haranguing than by giving her a glass of wine.

Actually that's not exactly correct. You might be referring to the study from England a few years back? Even the authors found it inconclusive.

This is the official position here:
"Because there are so many unknowns, the CDC, the U.S. Surgeon General, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Academy of Pediatrics advise pregnant women not to drink alcohol at all."

Yes, fetal alcohol syndrome acts before any of us can reliably tell a woman is pregnant. Plus, it's getting a little too close to the whole right-wing the woman is the vessel for the sacred fetus thing for my comfort.

I have a different opinion than many here have expressed. I tend to agree with Bri; I also tend to fight like he does, passionately and doggedly, maybe not effectively. We may be the perennial outsiders, I don't know. I haven't seen a way to contribute, so I've been somewhat silent on these issues. And I have watched Elderberry, whom I consider a friend, consistently make an ass of himself. Definitely a minority opinion.

Well hey, at least I did a good job of it. And if you do a bit of forensics, you'll see I didn't throw the first stone. Even when my opinion was in the minority, it was still my opinion; and I was attacked for it. I just wasn't ready to jump on the bandwagon with the information that was available to me (or anybody at that time). And I was accused, as a "moderator" of somehow being in bed with those "powers that be". And frankly, if standing my ground is making an ass of my self, then I'm a damn proud ass.

And I consider you a friend as well.
